I looked last night, and a lot of the "sales" were odd colors and sizes.  Just getting rid of leftover inventory that does not sell well.

I’ve never really understood the concept behind alignment stick covers. Do the sticks really scratch a driver head through the driver headcover?

I was in the exact same boat as you - thought they were overkill.  Then realized when I put the driver in the bag, if it's anywhere near the alignment stick it can go through the cover up the shaft when upside-down.  When you are mid round it's the last thing you think about.  #neveragain lol

Yep an alignment stick got up under my 3 wood headcover and scratched the crown of my 3 wood.  Had to get it refinished : (

I always put headcovers on my woods after every shot.  One time putting the driver back in the bag with the headcover on, the alignment stick went up inside the headcover.  Got to the next tee and it was all scratched up.  Awful looking.  It happens.

I took the alignment sticks out of the bag. If they are in the bag, I put them in a separate section that my driver (with my wedges) so they are far away.

Who actually uses their alignment sticks anyways? 😂 I have them in mine and they're for decoration but I've had a cover on them all along 😁
