I watched the Handa event last night.  Loved the mixed format, and wish other events followed.

The Australian announcers were almost as bad as their US counterparts with Woods when it cam to Cam Smith last night.  Good grief.  Surprised they even acknowledged anyone else on the course or in the field.

This X1000.....LOL! I remember saying to myself during the telecast "is this how the announcer and analyst acted during Tiger's reign?"

The fawning was terrible. I felt embarrassed for them.....

Course is great. Hate the format. I want to watch only the men’s Ozzie open. Not the women’s or the disability opens. Tuned in for about 30 minutes but couldn’t take it. Will not be watching. Too bad.

Yep, not a fan of the format either but I will watch it to see Adam, Davis and Lonard play <= great to see him back on the Leaderboard. Yonks ago, I remember following him and Chalmers at the Vic Open. Amazing players both of them especially Lonard

Good to see Adam Scott go low today! Seems to be talking himself up into having a good season coming up, maybe a little preview of that today.

Well I'm a big fan of the format as I like watching women's golf as much as men's and I think the coverage is tremendous considering they are handling multiple events over 2 courses that don't share a border (2.5 miles apart).

Can understand the comments about the parochialism of the commentators and yes, it was/is like that with Tiger, too.

There is almost no filler of booth chatting whilst no golf is shown and sometimes even dead air time (LPGAT particularly for the latter).

Courses are tremendous (I've played both many times) for tourney golf but are playing easy due to Melbourne's La Nina wet weather so greens are a touch more receptive and slower than usual. With 90+ deg f forecast for the weekend the greens will dry out and we should see some increased drama on and around the greens.

Two wonderful courses, there are another 10 similar within a few miles of these, that's Melbourne sandbelt.

One other thing - nice to see the coverage focus on shot making rather than putting.

I'm thinking the coverage will settle in a bit after both cuts.  Right now there is just so much happening, and you can tell they don't have a huge camera or on-course field.  So they have feature groups getting most of the action.

I'll be curious if they still keep the men and women in separate groups/pairing on the final day.  Except for the logistics of the different tee box locations (which often aren't very far apart) and one of the holes playing as a par 5 for the women, I can't really think of why the leading man and leading woman shouldn't be paired together.  They aren't competing against each other, so perhaps that takes away a bit of the drama and/or mind games of having the top 2-3 players grouped together.

Very disjointed having 2 courses/3 events, suspect they only had "skeleton" coverage at Kingston Heath since they weren't going to be there on the weekend.

Per Geoff Shackelford:

151st Open qualifiers: Min Woo Lee (3rd), Haydn Barron (T4) and Alejandro Canizares (T4) were the top three qualifiers not already exempt to the The Open at Royal Liverpool. Lee and Barron are Australians, while Canizares is from Spain and recently lost his DP World Tour card.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
