That's a shame. Good shafts, but I think they really could've capitalized on the all-black look

 

edit: nvm, forgot about the LZ blackouts and the AMT onyx shafts that came on the black 718s

It’s a way to generate sales a few months of the outgoing model before the new ones are released that’s the pattern.

GG has them up, but is only offering S shafts. The pics on the Titleist website only show the AMT in S300. Really hoping this changes.

At last years Genesis I checked out Cameron Smith’s black T100s. Finish on the leading edge and face (sweet spot) was well worn away. Obviously can’t say if it was the same finish as what’s on this offering.

Curious to know if these are only offered in the "standard" offering or if you can custom order these with any shaft.  it sort of seems by the website that they will all be pre built and only offered one way with the one shaft offering for each model.

If this is true it’s the same finish this year as they use on the jet black wedges. Which is awesome news because the wedges hold up very well.

However, it is also due to the production limitations for number of SKUs. They can only produce a certain number of sets in a given time. Titleist cannot possibly release chrome and black sets of all 3 irons. That would be 6 different sets of irons being manufactured, sorted, custom built and shipped. Too much to handle at a product launch. Therefore, they limit the burden by releasing the black version on off years.

That would be a valid point if the black sets were customizable however they are not and they are produced in limited quantities to generate buzz in the downtime before a new cycle launch.  Mizuno is doing the same thing with the 225s.

 Do you mean the sm8 jet black wedge was durable? Or you already got to try the sm9 blacks and there were durable?
