Best Golf Shoes for Walking

I tried them but they didn't work for me: the toe box wasn't a great fit.

I am also looking for a new pair that is also well ventilated: waterproof shoes and Dallas heat aren't a great combo unless you want trench foot!

True Linkswear work very well in similar conditions here in NW Florida.

Did you have to make a swing adjustment due to the sole height of the Hokas? I have some Cliftons that I used for running, but in my opinion they are better for walking.

So I walk - daily 5k every morning. Bondi Clifton Gaviotta are my rotation. Obviously SG for golf as well.

I was shocked at the SG for golf thought -  I made Zero swing adjustments and I have minimalist NB and True Linkswear previously.

Best decisions I made for my feet

I may be looking into those then. I wear True Linkswear now and they are pretty comfortable, but I still like my Cliftons better for walking.

Saw the Code Chaos the other day at a local shopping outlet.  The price was nice, but man they are hideous.  I passed on them because they are so ugly haha.

Some of them are absolutely hideous, like designed by a 7 year old hideous, especially last years colorways.

Here's the ones I got this year. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but these ones are decent enough to me and I just value walking shoe comfort over anything right now.

White ones not terrible either imo:

Those definitely aren't as bad as some of the others I've seen.  If I would have seen those colorways at the outlet I probably would have bought a pair with the deal they were having.  If they're comfortable for you for walking, that's all that really matters!!

I've been hearing good things about Skechers being comfortable. Some of the comments said it was like walking on pillows.

I thought I would give the brand a try. They had a sale so I bought two pairs. I got them down from $115 to $62 a pair with free shipping after using all the discounts and buying two pairs.

I went with spikeless. It was my first time going without spikes. The first thing I noticed was how well they gripped.

I don't like to wear a new pair of golf shoes walking 18 so I usually change to my old pair after 9 but I had no problems after nine so I kept them on for the back nine. I walked the whole 18 without any foot problems. My friend asked me how they felt. I said they weren't like walking on pillows but they felt good especially for the first time out.

After wearing them for four rounds I will say...it's like walking on pillows now.

I can't say about durability. Time will tell..I am impressed with the comfort and the price I paid. I never thought spikeless would grip so well.

Skechers never let me down. Golf or casuals. After Achilles injury and plantar fasciitis they’re all I wear. Need new ones for golf. I’ve gone through all mine.

The looks are an award winner but they are super comfortable. After my Achilles heel issues, I was in need of new golf stand Skechers weren’t available where I was at the time. The Chaos were and were also on same.Tried them  was pleasantly surprised!

Walk over 100 rds a year and always been a Adidas Tour 360 guy (cushion + stability) but am starting to look towards lighter shoes ( Codechaos\ZG line up)

My son also walks  100+ rds a year and wears Skechers Go Golf shoes, the sneaker looking model not the old man versions. We wear the same size I wore a pair of his recently, they are very comfortable.

Adidas have the best arch support.

fantastic shoes that are not only comfortable, but provide excellent lateral support. I am a bigger more powerful swinger…. Need very supportive shoes.

I am surprised….. no love for the adidas ZG21/ZG23 line up??? Those the are the best shoes ever. I think the adidas handle wide fore feet well too.

I play about 2x a week and walk pretty much exclusively.  For the last few years, I've alternated between 2 pairs of regular trail shoes (not trail 'running' shoes), one from Columbia and one from Sketchers, and they have gripped well and held up well and are also waterproof.  They're also versatile in that I don't feel I need to wear them only for golf.

Cuater by Travis Mathew are by far the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn for golf.  So comfortable that I even bought a few pairs of their casual shoes.  The Moneymaker and Ringer are my favorites.

Travis Mathew shoes look interesting to me.  How do they fair in wet weather and are they breathable?

It seems like Adidas is solid in everything they make.  They don't ever seem to get much love tho!

Both the Moneymaker and Ringer are both waterproof.  I’ve played in pouring rain with the Ringer and my feet were as dry as I can be.   The Moneymaker doesn’t look waterproof but they actually are and holds up well too and is breathable. There’s also the Luxe, which will be my next pair. If you go to Function18.com, they have great prices for Cuater shoes.

Which models are you using? I need an extra wide and most companies don't have them in spikeless.

Not at all. Just need to have another set of irons when you wear ‘em that are +1” over what you typically play.

The last 2 years my favorite has been the Jordan ADG3.  I walk nearly 100% of the time and they've been excellent.  They keep water out well, breathe decently, have good traction for a spikeless, and have held up really well.  I have had 4 pairs and 3 are still going strong.  They're kind of my default beater shoe when it's a bit wet and don't care if they take some wear.  Only real downside is they tend to squeak.  Apparently you can fix it with some baby powder but I'm too lazy.  With that said I just got some Jordan's 11's and based on the excellent reviews on comfort/walking and the fact that they have spikes.  Been doing speed training all offseason and wanted a bit more traction.  Not that the ADG3's have ever been an issue in traction I just wanted to go spiked this year.  Chances are I'm going to pamper my 11's and only wear them under ideal conditions though.

I've had many shoes that were generously cushioned golf shoes over the years. They felt nice and comfortable in the store so I had to go home with them. My first golf shoe in the 90s was the FJ Contour and I went through many brands and models. I do have a sneaker problem, by the way. My wall of sneakers (including my golf shoes) is a constant reminder of this.

Recently, I decided to go against what I normally purchase and picked up some Ecco Biom H4s off the clearance rack. These do not have much cushion at all, but I walked a few rounds in them and I can say that they are probably the best feeling shoes I have worn in a long time. On a side note, my feet never felt better after those rounds, which is a testament to the shoe also.

Maybe this meant that I don't need a bunch of cushioning. I thought about it and I realized that this may be because I am always walking on grass, and the grass provides more than enough cushioning for me. Sometimes, the give in the cushion will cause slight movement in the feet create hot spots and friction points on the upper part of the foot. On a side note...socks matter too.

After all this, I don't think I will wear another brand of shoe for walking. I'm looking at picking up a pair of C4s now. For riding, I can go back to style over function.

This is just my 2 cents. Shoes are a very personal thing. This is just my experience. YMMV

Gonna throw my vote out for anything NewBalance. I personally wear Striker V3. But having the option to choose a size in WIDE has been eye opening.

I have a pair of the skechers spikeless that I have all but worn out from walking.  They are going into season six or seven.  I was a little skeptical at first with them as I don't think I even own another pair of skechers anything but found them on sale so gave them a try.  Very, very comfortable shoes.  Decently lightweight too.  That and the padding and support make them a really nice golf shoe.

My personal favorites for walking are the TW 13 and Biom Hybrid. TO me, Pro SL or anything with a very flat sole is not great for walking. I have a few pairs of G4 and my favorite to walk in are the longwing gallavanter - the G4 insoles are awesome but I am guessing may be some more variability in terms of comfort for different people.

Overall I'd say the safest bet is probably the eccos.

TRUE Linkswear - True All Day Knit II for warmer days and the TRUE OG's for colder days

This 100%. the new True Lux Hybrids are incredible as well are the All Day Ripstops.  And if you like more of a "barefoot" feel the OG Feel's are great, but be warned the OG Feel's are not water resistant in the slightest so i wouldn't wear those even if it's just morning dew haha

If you like an athletic sneaker style with some support, the Under Armour Charged Phantom spikeless are the most comfortable shoes I've tried this year. More comfortable than the footjoys I tried and my current spiked favorite, the Next%.

Lux Hybrids seemed nice as well but $200 felt a bit steep for them.
