Best Golf Shoes for Walking

Recommended Posts

I've been hearing good things about Skechers being comfortable. Some of the comments said it was like walking on pillows.

I thought I would give the brand a try. They had a sale so I bought two pairs. I got them down from $115 to $62 a pair with free shipping after using all the discounts and buying two pairs.

I went with spikeless. It was my first time going without spikes. The first thing I noticed was how well they gripped.

I don't like to wear a new pair of golf shoes walking 18 so I usually change to my old pair after 9 but I had no problems after nine so I kept them on for the back nine. I walked the whole 18 without any foot problems. My friend asked me how they felt. I said they weren't like walking on pillows but they felt good especially for the first time out.

After wearing them for four rounds I will say...it's like walking on pillows now.

I can't say about durability. Time will tell..I am impressed with the comfort and the price I paid. I never thought spikeless would grip so well.

Thanks for sharing.  Might have to look into some Skechers!!

Use any sneaker you like!

Then install GolfKicks on the bottom.  I have them installed on 2 of my favorite sneakers for walking.  I walk 3 to 4 days a week.  They perform better then any spiked golf shoe I've ever had, won't wear out and can be removed and used again.

I have used these in the past, and would agree with you on their performance!

just pick your favorite pair of running/gym/casual sneakers and play in those.

not much, if any, difference between spikeless golf shoes and a regular pair of sneakers.

plus, almost all golf shoes are ugly as sin.

... Yup. I have 5 pair and rotate 4 of them, with a new cream in reserve since I wear them the most. The real treat with Ecco shoes is after 2 years they still feel like the day you bought them. I walk 5 days a week on a course with a fair amount of elevation and these are the best golf shoes I have ever worn.

I agree with you Sam about Ecco. I have ten pair of shoes, five of them Ecco and they are the best of the bunch.  Second best is Adidas Tour 360.

Sounds like Ecco may be worth a try.  They seem a bit pricey, but if they're as good as they sound, they'd be worth the money.

I've been using Ecco dress shoes for 20+ years.  Their golf shoes are very, very comfy and very well made.  If you can be sure to try them on.  Their sizing doesn't directly correlate (in my experience). I typically wear a size 11, which according to Ecco would be a size 45....however, I wear a 44 in Ecco shoes.

Here's a random input from me:

I wore my Adidas CodeChoas (original version) for a full season 2 years ago, and Ecco S-Three for a full season last year. And I did find that at the end of the day my dogs were barking quite a bit less after a day in my CodeChoas shoes. My country club is pretty flat so almost every one walks there, and I'd walk 36 in a day quite a bit. Both very comfortable shoes, but my feet felt pain-free after a long day in my CodeChaos, and I can't say the same for my Ecco S-Threes.

This year I went out and bought the newest CodeChaos version (not hideous like last years) and I'm eager to try them out.

FWIW - All of my friends rave about the FJ Pro SLs as being the most comfortable walking shoe.

Currently, I am rocking the Nike Air Max 270G and love them, they are comfortable and stable.  Any others I should be looking into?

I've been using Saucony Endophine for a while, really comfortable and plenty durable.
Planning to give Hoka a try(there are a wide toe-box Hoka shoes at https://rununited.com/hoka/ that look pretty interesting, and at a decent price)

Saw the Code Chaos the other day at a local shopping outlet.  The price was nice, but man they are hideous.  I passed on them because they are so ugly haha.

So I do 75% of my rounds walking. Right now in my walking rotation I use:

-FJ Pro SL's

-FJ Premiers

-FJ Traditions

-Jordan 11's

The FJ premiers and 11's were instant plug and play - no issues walking 9 or 18.

The FJ traditions were slightly stiff and needed some break in time to comfortably walk 18.

The FJ Pro SL's needed multiple 9 hole break in periods before being comfortable enough to walk (for my foot). I was getting broken skin, right foot, at my achilles prior to fully breaking these in.

I always walk in ankle high socks which fully cover my foot/ankles in relation to my shoes.

Rotate the following:

Titliest TSR2 16.5* (@A1) Fuji Speeder 8.3TS X

Titliest 818H2 21* (@B3) Fuji Atmos Black 9X

Srixon ZXU 18*, ZX5 3-4, ZX7 5-PW

Cleveland RTX6 Raw 50*Mid Ctaper 130X, 54* Full S400 Onyx, 58* Low S400 Onyx

I tried the CodeChoas the other day - its a stability shoe. If you're a heel striker - beware - it'll slam your foot down & forward

ASICS Keyano are the same - not made for heel strikers

Edit : dont know if I'm a heel striker or not - but I can't walk in either of these shoes

I rotate between the following. I have some foot issues (Morton's neuroma, high arches, neuropathy) and require a roomy toe box although my feet are relatively narrow. These have been the best I can find after trying pretty much everything on the market.

True Linkswear Knit 2.0

True Linkswear Lux Sport

An older pair of Eccos (don't remember which model)

MG4+ (Spikless)

Adidas ZG21 (Spiked)

Waiting for the new ZG23 to drop so I can try them on and see how they feel

I also walk in Olukai a lot

I think they are comfortable but they are not very cushioned and some people like a lot of cushion

Driver -Cobra RadSpeed 9*

5 Wood - PING G425 16*

Hybrid  PING G410 22*

Irons - PING G400 5-UW

How are the Jordan 11's?  From your comment, sounded like they were good. Got a pair at the end of last year, but haven't gotten them out of the box yet.  Anything I should expect from them when walking?
