Its not, but it's all relative to the player. Someone who uses more of the face towards the edges will not be making such statements.

Is the TD much less forgiving than the standard Paradym?  I picked up the regular model, but I'm not loving the sound/feel of the head.  The ball speed is great, but it sounds so dead.  I have a TD 3W that I absolutely love.  Is it worth swapping for the TD driver too?

The TD is certainly not a punishing head. If you stay relatively close to the center of the face it's like any other driver.

As above, the TD model is undebatable less forgiving on paper and by the numbers - but each player will have a different opinion on how much it is based on where you hit it on the face and where your misses are, etc.

As long as you leave the heavy weight at the back, TD is not that much less forgiving.  The bigger difference is the regular model has the sliding weight which can really help if your misses are on the similar spot.

OK. I bit the bullet. Callaway extended the 2x trade so I traded my old stealth+ and picked up a 3d 10.5. Got at least $100 more for the trade than had I sold the stealth+ outright. 

 

Will play the s2+ tomorrow and then shaft up the 3d for testing.

I’ve been comparing the 9 & 10.5 heads and will likely keep the higher lofted one. One more round tomorrow before I let the 9* go.

I've determined that I really don't like swinging the TD with the Ventus Blue TR 6x that's in my demo. It takes so much concentration to get it to work for me. After hitting my buddy's TSR3 w/Tensei Black 65x yesterday, I'm really souring on this TD experience. But, I'll see if I can get a different shaft in it to demo, and we'll see how it goes. But I'm not going to give it too much more time.

 

Have to say, though, that the good hits with this TD/shaft combo are cannons, for sure. Seem to get crazy ball speed off the face. I just can't deal with this combo any longer.

I'm still testing the 9 & 10.5* TD heads. These are no less forgiving for me than the Rogue Max I was playing before and quite a bit easier to use than the Rogue Max LS. I do have the heavy weight in the back on both which definitely makes a difference.

Just received mine today. 9* playing at 43.75inchs Rogue White MSI 70 gram shaft. Point and shoot baby fades at the range. Love the sound/feel. I’ll be playing it this weekend.

I went through a swing change this year and was really struggling with woods. Hit a friends hybrid during a scramble when I wasn’t feeling confident over my 3 wood. Went out that day and bought a hybrid. Lol. My course isn’t that long and I haven’t noticed any difference in hitting hybrid on the par 5’s. Maybe 1/2 club longer into the green. I like the set up so far.

Ok that makes sense! Great set you got going. I also added a 3h/19 this summer as well. But then added a 15 deg 3 wood. And now I find myself reaching for the wood more. Loved hitting the hybrid. But Im thinking either going to like a 4h or lower wood to find more use for it.

Decided to just buy another vblack 6x and go head to head...paradym 3d 10.5 vs s2+ 10.5. 

 

Not a single ball from s2+ got 160+ ballspeed. 5/8 were 160+ with paradym. 1 bad miss from each. 

 

Gotta get them on-course now. But if the paradym gives me the dispersion it showed on my launch monitor then I will convert. 

 

IT'S FAST. I'm a bit under the weather too..most swings under 108. I think the paradym has 165+ in it.

I recently acquired a paradym triple diamond and swapped the adaptor on my 505xx.  I don't have a launch monitor but I did get a few rounds in before the weather turned wet and cold and saw some noted distance gains over my previous driver.  I was probably averaging 285 - 290 with the 505xx and paradym 9 degree turned down to 7 with the green dot adaptor.  Next year will be exciting as I don't feel like I'm going to get much better than this combo!

I drank the Kool Aid and picked up a Triple D. I was hitting straight missiles with this driver. Usually, I aim for something if I don't want to hit it, but that wouldn't work with the Triple D as it is point and shoot. It feels awesome on well struck shots. The Triple D is extremely forgiving with the heavier weight in front. 

 

My miss is a weak fade off to the right.  I didnt miss one drive on the 9 I played. All I hit were straight as an arrow line drives. I can't wait to play next just to hit this beast of a driver !

This driver with the Diamana TB has become one of my most consistent clubs. Distance is strong but accuracy is what seals it. I don’t find it unforgiving at all. In fact, I do worse with larger headed drivers. This one looks so right to me, I think that’s a big part of it. Seems to go where I am looking and that adds confidence. Without a doubt the best driver I’ve owned. The sound and feel are very satisfying.

 

One key for me was switching out the shafts. The Ventus Velocores are not for me. I don’t care for how they feel or how I swing them. I was doing a fitting a few weeks ago and tried one yet again, Ventus Blue, in a fairway and it was not working. The Mitsubishi Chemical shafts are my best fits in driver.

I’m a little late to the party but I went and hit the td yesterday. Played a Rogue ls all summer with an af 505xx.

I compared the two drivers on a Gc quad. The biggest thing I noticed was when I left the face open and hit a slice on the td, it didn’t make the spin jump up nearly as much as the ls, like 500 less rpm.  Spin was definitely lower and more consistent across the face on the td, picked up a few mph ball speed too. 
 

I’ve been trying to play a draw for the last few years because I’m a high spin player, but with this combo I think I could actually play a fade and not worry about spin making me lose distance. 
 

Definitely excited to try it on the course.

I have the left dash in my rotation and have taken it out on the course.  Ball launches 11-14* and spin is around 2300 on GG Quad.

Coming on to praise the Callaway customer service.  My son who has played the TD since April, and is a freshman D3 player practices and plays a lot.  Last week, he cracked the face on the bottom of the driver and Callaway sent a replacement out the next day.  He swings ~120 so a bit surprised it has lasted this long with as much as he hits it.

So just an update - and now a bit frustrated with Callaway.  Called to check status on the warranty claim and was told 9 degree TD heads are back ordered until April!  Again, this is for a college golfer who can't wait with a Spring season ahead.  No alternatives given - so I just ordered a like new of Preowned to fill the gap - wish we would have known that orignally.

Ugh.  I just called Cally yesterday and they told me to warranty the head thru a retailer.  What you're saying is really bad news for me.  I found a dent in mine recently after noticing that my drives were carrying 20-30 yards short of my typical carry numbers.  Looks like I may pick up the Qi10 LS so I don't have to deal with cracked/dented faces.  I would have to deal with the carbon face popping off possibly, LOL.

They told me to do the same thing, both golf galaxies in my area refused to do that. Frustrating as we buy quite a bit from them, but they didn’t even have the head in stock, so I guess it wasn’t an issue at the end of the day.

If they told you to go to a retailer then that's one thing. But if you bought direct from them and they don't have inventory then...

A bit surprised by that as well.  We did purchase directly from Callaway - they were the ones that mentioned to try a retailer as a last resort.  I relayed this was for a college player, and his coach is a Callaway fitter and staffer.
