Some key differences in milling and detail.

In my opinion the first release is prettier and more desirable.

Milling is less pronounced. Ball feels (sounds) duller or softer.

The grip is not great in my opinion as it's VERY skinny and too squishy for my tastes.

The sight line is Blue.

Something else I noticed was the flag paint fill is in the other direction.

Also the insert seems cheaper or different color.

Putter was fresh out of the bag and had a scratched insert.

The white material surrounding the face is also a different color.

I think newer is better cause I prefer a slant/flow neck but that personal choice.

The cosmetic stuff is all changeable at home anyways.

Looks great to me, I like the scalloped little slant neck, but I don't like it being filled up with the model designation. The scratches on the face look like they are from the stupid velcro on the headcover. 700 usd and you still get effin velcro on the headcover.

One insert has patina and the other doesn’t.  Not sure how that makes it cheap.  Completely different head which will feel completely different due to design

The inserts are not the same. And neither is the milling

How are they not the same?  The color difference is due to patina.  The copper that is used is held to tight tolerances composition wise.  Milling differences look well within the normal variances in a production run.  There’d be differences if you grabbed 30 of the same exact putter.

No. The actual milling pattern is different.

Again how?  The pattern is the same.  It’s a face mill run at the same feed and speed which is why the overlap matches on both putters.  There will be subtle differences in depth based on when the putter was milled vs when the inserts were last changed.  As a machinist who works with the same alloy of copper and uses the same face mills I have a decent idea.

Still not planning on adding any SC putters to my collection that read "Special", "Super", or "Champion".  Ridiculous and boastful.

(Also, at $700, SC is eating into flipper profit.  Risky move as flipping has to be a significant portion of Titleist's distribution model for the SC line!)

IMO, these are to collect or use.  Flippers might be disappointed since the older ones barely get &700 new in the wrapper around me - sure some have asked for more.  These are likely to be like the Jet Set and not be worth much, if any, more for a while if ever.

Buttonback has a different kind of feel that some like.  I can understand if people want to buy one.

My local course got a whole pile of these in all four configurations.  Not sure that they are all that limited, but I guess that time will tell.  Does anybody know how many pieces got made?

The plus models aren’t my cup

of tea anyway, but a blue sight line would put me off. Keep it black or white.

Supposed to be released tomorrow 07/28 for $700 MAP.  Many shops sold them as soon as they got them on Tuesday or yesterday.  Just keep calling around.  The Titleist fitting places can get some as well as retail shops, so call them too.  There are a few pro shops at Munis around me that always get the special putters.

Anybody near Denver, send me a PM if you want to know where I saw some yesterday.

Pre orders were a few weeks back.  I don't know how this works since you don't apparently know how many that you are getting until they arrive.

What weights came in the 2.5?  Can't tell if that's a 15 or 35...

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
