Not sure if you remember but the 25yr plus old REXTAR ball or Maxfli HT from 30+ yrs ago...... very unique feel.....even though the TP RED was only 3pc , the 2024 TP5 has that similar feel....

Played a round today where i mixed TP5x with  '24 BX. On one par three, i hit a shot each with my UW and my DI. In both cased the Bridgestone was farther for me. Of the driver and two good swings I had with each they were within 5 yards of each other. Shortgame on the BX wins out for me. I do like the explosive feel with the TP5x off irons but other than that I likely will stick with bridgestone. Of couse this is after i bought a dozen TP5x pix, luckily i didn't open them. May need to add them to my BST listing.

TP5 went out for nine today.  I am pleasantly surprised by this golf ball.  Feels explosive off irons and very responsive around greens.  I was expecting lowish ball flight but it was more of a nice mid high off irons and driver. IMO it's a WAY better ball than 21 version.  It's still soft off the putter, but with Mezz 1 it felt pretty good.  It's not short.  No, it's not as long as its brother but it's not far off either.   I much prefer the feel over Pro V1...as it feels more lively if that makes sense.  I hit one quacker hook on a 225y par three lined with water down the left and the sucker held its line and just caught the left edge.  That caught my attention.

Just jump right in, why don’t ya…I had some TM points sitting around, just enough to cover one of the new 4 dozen for the price of 3 of the TP5 or TP5X. As someone who preferred the previous TP5X over the TP5, that was my leaning. However, the positive feedback in this thread lead me to take a flyer on the TP5.

 

Very early testing, but I am impressed by the new TP5. Without getting too technical, it just seems to be a better “balanced” and performing ball than the previous version from tee to green. Not to say that it is “better” than the TP5X for anyone else (or even me), but whereas I quickly discerned that I did not love the previous TP5, this new ball had me impressed from the get-go. I will give it more testing over the coming weeks. YMMV.

I just shot a VERY solid round in the most trying of conditions  .....newer course , 30+mph winds gusting to 40 and firm , tight fairways ..... 

 

Didn't lose one TP5 AND still looks phenomenal 😍  

 

Actually cuts through wind like the 22 BX ball but feels a smidge better ....

 

77 +5 over btw and truly happy with the stability of this ball!!! Love, Love, LOVE this new golf ball!

I've been alternating between the CTX and TP5x.  CTX wears out faster than TP5x but it's still acceptable.  Looks like TM made the TP5/TP5x bullet proof this year.  Probably heard all the complaints from their customers about the previous gen being so fragile, lol.

I was scrolling through a Vice Pro Plus ball thread on here and I see that is a ball you have played in the past. I picked up one on the course the other day and played a couple of holes yesterday with it. It performed very similar to me to the TP5x, maybe a bit more spin with full irons going into the greens. Would be keen on hearing your thoughts.

Not Phizzy but to me the VPP is similar in performance to prov1x especially the 2023 model .....might be a tiny softer and not quite the short game spin but for the price a GREAT BALL!!! Still have 3 dz but I've switched into the 2024 TP5

Pro Plus is low spin much like the new TP5x, however, I found it to launch a bit lower.  I still have a few boxes left and will play them until I run out.  They are excellent balls but lack the pop, ball speed wise that the TP5x has.

Got to finally play the TP5x in warm weather and with green fairways. Was 77 today.  Felt much nicer than previously in 45°. Couldn’t make anything today.  0 birdies but shot a 77 so I was happy considering.  Spun well, flew well and felt better.

Any comparisons to z star 💎 or v1 x? I was going off ballnamic suggestions and taylormade has never been suggested to me. But I’m open to something different.

I can compare TP5 to last 3 iterations of ProV1x .....23 comes closest as it's softer than other 2 for me.....but if you need good launch and spin yet crave a softer product , then lean towards TP5 2024 ...... very similar characteristics with v1x and TP5 yet opposite ends of spectrum concerning feel. 

So TP5 feels closer to Prov1 but flies and spins closer to v1x ......the 2024 version in particular as the previous generations I found short and spinny .....

This has Tour sauce in regards to wind conditions,  distance and durability.

I could not compare the TP5x to Pro V1x.  I am a Pro V1 guy for less spin and lower flight.   The TP5x is a less spin ball vs its counterpart in TP5.  
 

the TP5x is def on the firmer side of the Pro V1x, though.

Yeah I mostly need mid iron spin and I prefer more spin off the wedges. I’m looking for something between the v1 x and CTX. CTX is a little too spinny. Srixon is pretty close but I feel it spins less off of a 70-80 yard shot.

Bruh....... this thing LOOKS practically new after 72 holes !!!  I gave away 5 boxes of 4pks for friends and internet friends to try.....I called my local rep and explained that the secret sauce injected into the 2024 ball is worth its weight in ubertonium

 

Funny is the Callaway Tour ball , while good , doesn't fit my game as they made the std Tour to compete with prov1 and CTX flew low for me .....

 

The TP5 , FOR ME, with somehow added distance just ......PERFECT.....again, FOR ME!! Spin around the greens , better trajectory....like prov1x but MUCH BETTER FEEL ..... and of DURABILITY....I'll go back to my comparison of a couple of 90s balls: the REXTAR and Maxfli HT  ....

From what I've seen, very stable into the wind with a flattish but mid-high trajectory....obviously can be flighted .....reminds me of the 22 BX stability but might not be THAT good...lol
