2024 TP5 and TP5X balls…

How’d you all get these? I can’t find a place anywhere on their site.

I have a couple dozen of the MySymbol

and regular TP5X. The markings and logo on the MySymbol balls don’t look as crisp and saturated as the regular balls. Is the “printing” process different for the MySymbol balls compared to the standard run?

I played my TP5x pix 2 pack yesterday. It was a touch cooler than it has been here and windy. The marketing claims are not wrong. This ball is long off the irons. I didn't see anything with the woods that Im not accustomed too but on the irons I was consistently 1/2 a club to full club longer. I hit 2 shots with 9 irons that carried over 160 and that is my 145-150 club with summer distances. I did put a little extra into it but was really surprised at the length as I was hitting to back pins looking for middle of the green. Durability was good, better than the Callaway Ive tried. Feel on this ball is softer than expected for the distances I saw. It felt softer than my normal Prov1x.

My local Academy has TP5 and TP5x on the shelves with the description "24" included.  Thing is, there are a couple different boxes.  Can anyone confirm what the 2024 version boxes look like...  specifically the back?

Played my first round of the year with the tp5x a week and a half ago then the cold weather and rain rolled back in and re shut down the courses. This ball ticked all the boxes for me. Great feel off all clubs, definitely getting a little lower spin on the longer clubs but still spin plenty with the wedges. Performed quite well into the wind. Ordered up the buy 3 get one mysymbol balls and will be playing these exclusively this season.

I played a few holes tonight (indoors) with both the TP5 and TP5x. I definitely saw more iron and driver distance compared to the Maxfli Tour X. I think I liked the feel of the TP5 more than the TP5x but I’m going to keep testing them both to see what differences I see.

Got my trail pack in last night, excited to try these out. I used to play TM balls exclusively since TM honors military service with a discount if ordered directly. The '19 ball was great, but when the next version was released, I switched over to the ProV1s. Hopefully these are back on the right track and can compare with the performance we are used to cause the price of ProV1s will increase now that all the other OEMs have matched the MSRP of Titleist.

'24 TP5x spins a little more than the '19, however, not nearly as much as the '21.

got to put the TP5x vs B X vs Diamond indoors.

 

The TP5x was relatively clicky to the others. B X was very mute and the Diamond only slightly louder than the B X.

 

Will try to test all three soon on course and see what I go with. I originally committed to the B X but wanted to make sure I find the best for my feels.

I am really coming around on the TP5X.  The BX was a staple for me last year.  I was a TP5 guy before that.  I grew used to the firmer feel of the BX and the extra ball speed off the tee too.  For a fast ball, I got great spin with my irons too (which is a big concern of mine).  

Now the TP5 almost feels too soft.  And, I am gravitating to the TP5X.  I would sacrifice a little spin with my irons to get the extra speed off the tee and a firmer feel.  But, yet to be seen if I go with it 100% as I have not tried the new BX yet.  And that is definitely on the radar before I make any decisions or stock up on anything.

What are you seeing ball speed wise tp5 vs 5x? Also spin rates?

I haven't done a head to head on driver yet with them.  I did do a session with irons though.  Tested 5i, 7i, 9i.  TP5X was between 1-2mph faster ball speed than the TP5.  With the 5i, it was about 300RPM difference.  7i were extremely similar.  The 9i had the biggest spread where the TP5X was about 600rpm lower.  

As far as driver, just based on what I am used to seeing during my simulator league rounds, the TP5X hits my top end ball speed more often than the TP5 does for me.  If I had to guess, I would say it seems to be about 2-3 mph faster.  But, I have not done a head to head battle. Time has not been on my side lately lol.

Thank you. I had way low spin with the x and was debating waiting or going for my move to ctx. That by far performs the best for me.

This is on Taylormade's website.  I thought the TP5 had more spin and the TP5x was longer.  This basically says the opposite.  Am I wrong?

They definitely messed that graphic up. This is a different one on Tm website that is much more accurate

I finished off my 4 pack of 5x yesterday. I gave the regular 5s to a buddy. Over 3 rounds I was able to compare it to Prov1x and Left Dash. To my unskilled game, the 5x felt the softest of the 3. Hard to tell the difference between the V1x and the 5x but definitely softer than the Left Dash. The biggest thing I noticed between the balls was the height on all shots. The Titleist were just higher launching and peak height was definitely noticeable. The Left Dash is still king of distance off the driver for me. The 5x wins on the irons though. Spin is very good on the 5x into greens for a ball of its type.

Really want to take advantage of the buy 3, get 1 MySymbol deal with @TaylorMadeGolf but wish I could get the Block M logo under the Taylormade logo and not on the side.

When I ordered I couldn’t even get it on the side..  may need to order more if you can now..😂

I am really impressed with the improved durability. Have played 27 holes now with the TP5 pix (trial pack). The TP5 plays very similar to the 2019, imo. Just a really solid ball and big improvement from the 2021 ball.

TP5x is probably going to be the ball for the year.. It does it all well and I think is the fastest ball out there this year.

Faster than chrome tour x?    I haven’t got a chance to hit those yet
 

I agree the new tp5x is a great ball and is a good balance, particularly with the irons.

So far it seems so. It is early in the season but early impressions are really good.

I've tested both balls and grabbed 4 dozen CTX but still have a box of TP5x left.  Both outstanding balls, but the CTX just does it all but a tick higher ball speed for me compared to the TP5x.
