2024 TP5 and TP5X balls…

Tested both this morning and like others have mentioned these have some heat on them in the woods, irons i need to have a better day with but both very good. 

 

Preference wise for me definitely leaning towards the TP5X myself, that chart above definitely helps and can see the differences. As for it being my ball for 2024 I need to test some others first but it's not going away right now.

Got out for a full round today. Really like the ball. Definitely has a little more spin than the 2019 model around the greens but that was nice. Long game was very similar. Shot a 71 which I was VERY happy with given I haven’t played since Thanksgiving.

Arrived in store. New X version still sounds clicky. Will purchase a sleeve of each model and see how they compare. Bonus is priced £5 a dozen less than Callaway and Titleist.

Funny you say that about the clicky, maybe because I’ve played the 2019 version and left dash, but these feel much softer to me.

Plans dashed. Local store won't sell sleeves of balls. I shall wait until they come into our on course shop.

How does the new X compare to the left dash performance wise (launch, spin, distance). I love the left dash but wish they were a little softer.

For me the new TP5X had a touch more ball speed, but a hair more spin as well.  Basically evened out carry with the Driver.  The softer feel is what sold it for me along with durability.  I have one to my buddy who’s played some on the Asian tour, and it’s lasted the last two rounds I’ve played with him with great results

I’m interested in the X based on the charts and characteristics. Hopefully I get the free sleeve from TM soon.

Picked up a box of TP5x last night.  I wanted to pick up a box of CTX as well however, the local store was out.  Going to play Coto de Caza/South so I will post a review later.

I did yesterday.  It launches pretty high across the the board but low spin which I don't mind.  I'll reiterate what others have posted.  It's very similar to left dash however, maybe a smidge more spin with irons and definitely around the greens.  Not as firm as left dash or '19 TP5x.  I love the feel of firm balls, and the new TP5x feels nice actually.  TM has a winner here.

Nice.  Sounds like this version is back to being playable for the folks that want a bit lower spin.

I'm excited now lol. Was only able to play the new TP5 on the course so far, but I always wished the left dash had a touch more iron/short game spin while keeping the spin off the driver where it's at. Thanks for the update.

Um... Aside from that minor blemish on the one close up, I am not really seeing any problems?  That blemish could even be from the cutting process?  If it is, then it's pretty minor?  The ones that maybe looked out of center a hair seem to be balls that are leaning a bit skewing the angle.  Since I can see the cover on the ones I thought were maybe off, I just assume it's a perspective issue.  

Even that one blemish, that is no where near what people saw with the Callaway balls.  Jumping to that conclusion is a huge leap.

I have TBH. I just played the new TP5X and its all hype once again. Still clicky, still mediocre in the long iron game and definitely not enough spin around the greens

The other side of the coin is the TP5 is still too soft and spinny.....lots of room for improvement in this lineup if you ask me.......

 

the marketing is hilarious.....each player is saying "I have my longest gains with this ball".....Rory, Fowler and even a hot of youtube amateurs.....IMO, TM is not even CLOSE to Titleist quality or performance......Callaway is much better than TM and closer to Titleist......im disappointed.

Hardly any of the cores are centered.

The scientific 'eyeballing" here is extraordinary. Some nitwit cuts a bunch of balls in half and other nws declare the ball unworthy. I'm sure TM is planning a recall...

These are first run I assume if they catch it they'll fix it (wishful thinking) but also assume these are probably within tolerance as well if not they wouldn't have gotten out (more wishful thinking).

A few years ago I did the salt water test with a bunch of balls… The TMs were far and away the most unbalanced of all the balls. I think it’s just a TM thing.
