How do these compare to the i230?

Currently gaming the 2021 P790s and deciding between these and the i230s

Two totally different beasts.  The T150 are lower offset forgings.  The i230 are a bigger footprint, more offset, white scoring line and not as soft (obviously).  Shaft matters more than anything, but I tried them both with S300 as well as ModusTour105s.  The i230 might have the advantage with 4-5 iron consistency but that's about it.

T series soft? That is just crazy they are firm at best, bring back the AP2 at least they felt great.

Does anyone regularly hit the T150 3/4 long irons? How is the forgiveness and length?

Wondering if its better to go up to T200 utility or stick to the T150 if they aren't too different.

I love long irons and have 3-P in T150 - was considering combo set but never got a chance to test T100 or T200 so just pulled the trigger on the T150. I love them in this set. They're fast (plus they're a full club stronger lofts than I'm used to). I hit irons off the tee a lot because my normal courses have so much OB/penalty and I know I'll be using both often. I find the forgiveness to be perfectly fine in the T150, but I'm very much used to playing long irons.

Visually T150 will be a little more compact, have less bounce in the soles, and a sharper leading edges.

performance wise they are similar.  Both retain ball speed well and launch and spin high relative to their stated loft.  T150 will be better for a golfer that misses thin often, i230 will be more foregiving if your miss is higher on the face or your a bit steep.

feel wise they are different.  The i230 has a manufactured feeling softness with the tpu insert.  The t150 feel dense and a bit clicky.  Neither feel like a solid one pierce forging iron (nor should they)

Im still debating going t100 in the scoring irons 8-PW, someone talk me out of it? Or in to it!

Do it. That's my setup. T100 in the 7-8-9 and T150 in the 4-5-6 (I play Vokey PW). My 6i loft is 1 weak, and I generally play hybrid slightly more often than the 4i, based on course and conditions.

For me, this is the best setup to create the gapping that I need. With a full set of 150s, the 9-iron is so powerful that it creates gapping issues at the bottom of the bag. I want the extra power, launch and footprint in the longer irons, but I don't need any of that in the middle-bottom of the bag.

Some competitive rounds under my belt with the T150 and honestly I feel like kicking myself for having kept the original T100 in the bag for as long as I did. I just did not hit them anywhere near well enough to justify having them in the bag. The difference between them and the T150 is night and day. Obsessed with everything that I get out of T150 and buzzing to be able to get out there more with them.

I moved from T100s, and still have, keeping for sure.

The 150 gives a little more help, most noticeable in the 6-7 for me, but our course has limited irrigation, so when it gets firm, like the smaller sole on the S. 2 amazing sets that will keep me happy for a while.

I am very confused with these clubs. They look like they should be more forgiving than the T100S but I cannot seem to get the hang of them. Same shaft and everything. I guess the T100S might be a better fit for me. I want to change but cannot figure it out.  How many people are sticking with the T100S?

Just finished a test of T100S vs T150. It’s the added forgiveness and slightly larger footprint (yes subtle) for me.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered already, but I didn't read every post.

Are these considered the AP2 "replacement" in terms of forgiveness (tungsten etc...).  Yes I know the lofts are different, but are they meant to be a replacement in terms of size and forgiveness?

I've been reading through the entire thread and have saw a lot of comparisons between them along with a lot of longtime ap2 players switching to these.

I myself am an ap2 player, not switching this year but I think next year I will be going away from my ap2's. Just hard to give up

Being a previous ap2 player, I think the t100 is much closer in performance to the ap2.

Size wise maybe the t150 is closer, but but the t150 has a unique sole in that it’s rather wide, is very low bounce and has a sharp leading edge.  Ap2 was much higher bounce and some models had a chamfered leading edge.

I almost think the shape of the sole of the T200 is closer to Ap2 and OG t100s sole.

Agree.  The 2019 t100 was very similar to my ap2s.

So T100 = AP2s, then T150s are "easier" than AP2s?

I’m in the same boat, I put the 150 4-6 in the bag last fall and love them, combo’d them with my 100S 7-PW. Decided early this year to complete the 150 set but after a few months the 100S short irons are back in the bag. Can’t put my finger on it but turf interaction with the 100S

is a lot better for me. Got on a trackman and have 3-4 more yds carry with the 100 over the 150 with lofts and shafts the same.

I actually put mine back in this weekend also, they do seem crisper through the turf.

agree 100%.

t150 at address is nearly identical. Only the top lines are different. I always felt like forgiveness wise they similar. T150’s just go farther.

A few weeks ago I posted that I had received my T200/150 combo but my T150 7I made a ting noise when I hit it. The iron was sent back to Titleist and they put a new head on the shaft.  I received the club on Thursday but there is still a ting sound to the club.  The noise is not as noticeable this time and doesn’t happen on all shots.  I hear it more on toe side shots and shots hit a little higher on the face.  Occasionally I get the noise on what seems like a solid strike.   I don’t see any performance difference. The ball is going the proper height and distance.  My T150 6I doesn’t make the sound.

Anyone noticed anything like this?  Just seems odd. The 7I fitting head didn’t make a sound like this.

For me it was just a couple of yards. My carry with the T100 7 iron was 172 and with the T150 maybe 175-76. Not nearly enough to really worry me about have me to do a big gap session, but I still might just to get my averages down and adjust any lofts we may need to.

That is something I will be paying attention to when I get fitted. I've had my eye on the T100/T150 series for a hot minute, so this thread is getting my wheels turning...

Anyone playing T100/T150 combo?

Thousands of people are, but no real benefit because you have to change turf interaction when you bend the lofts to match.  Just get the T150's and add a 48* Vokey or whatever wedge you like to it.  No reason to carry a 4 iron in this set because the 5 goes so far

You can, but split set works, too. I go 7-8-9 (T100), 4-5-6 (T150). Only need to adjust by a degree to get workable gaps between 6 and 7, which has an imperceptible impact on turf interaction. But the advantage is you get a slightly larger footprint and a little more pop in the longer irons where most people want it.

To your other point, I agree. I have a hybrid that I play instead of the 4-iron, but will work the 4i in for certain conditions. For me, the split set is the best of both worlds.

Had a similar thing happen to me, it was more like something loose inside the head, we pulled the shaft out, and still the same noise with the 7 iron head. It was sent back to Titleist and they put on a new head. I just got the club a couple of days back. so far so good. But the 6 iron seems to be showing signs of a similar issue.

Been following this thread for months, all while different sets rotated in and out of the bag. Just put a set of the 150’s 5-PW and T100 50° wedge, all with PX LZ 6.0, in the bag today and first impressions are pretty great. Moving into them after two seasons with Mizuno Pro 225’s and a very short stint with the newer model T200’s.

The T150’s feel incredible to me. I’ve read many comments describing the feel as clicky, but I’m not getting that at all. They feel awesome when struck pure and I echo others on forgiveness with thin strikes. I’m fairly steep AoA and these are working fine so far. Hopefully the honeymoon continues. Turf interaction seems far superior to the T200’s, and really no noticeable difference in forgiveness. If anything, my mishits with the T150’s are more favorable.

The T200’s on the other hand felt harsh, tingy and just overall very unpleasant with stock AMT Black S300’s. Quite honestly, they felt completely dead to me off the face which was shocking. Possibly just an ill fit with the AMT Black, but I tested it extensively and saw good numbers on the LM. I was also catching fliers, which is my primary reasoning from moving on from the 225’s.

Proves once again how feel is so subjective and the best test is on course performance.
