Thanks to PGA superstore 25% off used sets, picked up a nice 6-P T150 and 5i T200 in great shape for $550.  Great price to experiment with T150.  In the net they felt much better than expected.

I'll give it a few months then go for a real fitting.  Problem is there are just so many good clubs out there.  The Blueprint S was way better than expected, Mizzy 245s nice, Cally Apex CB, etc...

Now if it would just stop raining long enough for the courses to dry off!

Now that is a killer deal.

I was going to add T150s to the top of the bag but ended up going full bag 245s. Report back on them and the transition to that T200.

They weren't 1 flat, but yes LZ 6.0.

I really want them to work out as I would like to sport an all Titleist bag.  It's really a matter of keeping my swing in shape.  I've been in a slump for months and was thinking it's time to get clunky GI clubs with graphite so I don't have to keep my swing tuned up.  But I got a great lesson the other day; a small tweak and hello middle of the clubface!  Where have you been?!  So I'm off the ledge of doom.

I’m currently in ZX5/7 with Oban 115’s.  Been told a couple of times that my Srixon’s aren’t spinning enough (5500 on 7I).  Spin jumped to 6200-6500 with 50 degree angle of decent with T150.

Fitter said I had the ball speed for T150 5I but seemed more confident with the T200.  T200 is definitely a rocket launcher.  He also built up a TSR3 19 degree hybrid that was money.

My pro just knows how much it kills me to be fit into stock offerings.

Hope you enjoy the middle of the T150’s!

For those that were fit into T100s and have switched to T150s, are you seeing any real world difference in scoring or performance?  I'm expecting some marginal forgiveness improvements, but at the end of the day similar overall results?

I can only speak to the T150 5-iron, though that is at the end of the set where you'd see the most pronounced difference in forgiveness.

Six months ago I went from 2019 T100's in 5-9-iron, to Miura TC-201's. The Miura 5-iron was too punishing in testing though - I needed my absolute Sunday best strike else my ball speed and gapping would really drop, as would my descent angle to well below 45 degrees.

Ended up in a T150 5-iron and it is just so, so good. It carries so consistently, even off-centre, is so easy to strike, launches super high and comes down at 46* with close to 5000 RPM. It hits a consistent carry number and stops so softly on the green.

I've said it elsewhere in this thread, but the long irons in T150 are borderline unbeatable for those demanding a players look. It is night and day more forgiving than a 2019 T100.

EDIT: Just remembered I also had it bent 1* weak - which reduced offset and added a bit more launch, spin and descent angle - because the thing was so hot.

Those are the 2 sets I own, would say there is definitely a bit more help in 6/7, but past that pretty similar so far, early in the season.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't think it'll make any difference in the mid and short irons, but I was considering picking up a 5 in the 150 for the extra forgiveness.  Once I heard Will Zalatoris put a whole set in the bag, it has me questioning if I should upgrade the entire set.

Here's a question. On the underside of the cavity, on the 7 and above there is a narrow strip with a sandpaper like texture. On the 8-PW that's just a solid section.

Anyone know what the purpose of that piece is on the longer irons, or how it differs from the shorter irons?

IMG_2459.jpeg

IMG_2460.jpeg

It’s a hollowed out section filled with a tpu like substance.  Basically a pocket cavity.
Designed to let them reposition weight and give the 7-3 irons a faster face for more ball speed and distance.

Would agree with this on the 150 long irons. I gamed 100's 9-7 last year and 200's bent weak in the 6-4.  The 150 5,6,7 are really really good.

I made the mistake having a local shop reshaft my 150's and was extremely disappointed with the build.  Popping the heads off this week and getting them down to Peoples, bummed ill be without them for a month or so.

I previously had the 2021 T00 irons. Went to a split set of 2023 T100 (9-8-7) and T150 (6-5-4). I really don't see any significant differences in forgiveness or feel, but they all ARE forgiving for sure. And powerful. I'm going to have to adjust the lofts more between the 7 and 6 because the T150s go so far. But I'm still committed to the split set, because the extra heft and forgiveness in the long irons is great, but I don't want all that power with the shorter clubs. I don't want to be hitting 160-yard 9 irons; it just creates more headaches at the bottom of the bag.

Have you noticed a big forgiveness difference between the T150 and T200 6-iron?

Seeing his bag has gotten me looking more at my set and if I should buy T150s this year. I still have T100 from 2019 and love them but really tempting to try out these 150s. Only worries are that they are too long and launch too high because I already have the distance and hit it high with T100. Would also have a big gap from 44 deg PW to 50 deg GW. Could bend the 50 deg strong a deg. I'm a good ball striker but if Zalatoris is in them there's no reason not to consider. If they only made the T150 normal loft I would have ordered them at launch.

Those have to launch a mile in the air. I'd be tempted to get them bent 1 deg weak potentially. Might need to order a test iron to see the flight.

There's a 6 degree loft gap between the standard  t150 6 iron (28 degrees) and the t100 7 iron (34).  I'm curious what you've adjusted up to this point that is still resulting in a big yardage gap.  I'm considering a 150/100 mixed set, but I'm not sure how to deal with the loft gap (perhaps just bend the 150 2 degrees weak and leave the t100 standard?).

I got my T150 1 degree weak all the way throughout. Still have yet to get them outside to really see how high they launch. I don’t want them launching to the moon. I was going to get them 2 weak but the Titleist rep suggested to get only 1. If I need more I can always bend them more.
That was one reason why I didn’t blend my set until just the T100 50 degree GW. Now my PW is 45 and five degrees difference.
Spring is coming here soon in CNY, hopefully. I need more golf in my life again!!

I bought the iron heads used so I still don't know the lofts with certainty. I'm going to get them checked and adjusted. Right now my carry distance with T100 7-iron is 175, the T150 6-iron is 195, T150 5-iron is 205-210 and 4-iron 220-225 (on good strikes). My initial intention was to bend the 6-iron 2 weak, the 5-iron 1 weak, and the 4-iron standard. But I might just end up bending the 6 iron. I like 15 yard gaps with my irons, so if I can just take about 5 yards off the 6-iron I'll be good.

So long story short………….A few months back, I bought the T150’s and I didn’t feel that I was a good enough to ball striker to use them so I got a set of T200’s but I just couldn’t get used to the sound or feel.

I worked on my game, got a few lessons and went back to the T150’s but kept the T200 5 iron. I’ve been hitting them quite well.
I sold the T200 set for a minimal loss and I am very happy with my decision reverting back to the T150’s. They’re so pure and quite forgiving.

How do the T150 irons compare to Ping Blueprint S?

Pretty different profiles in terms of ball speed, launch, spin, carry and possibly descent angle (depending on delivery). As a package, those elements will also combine into how forgiving they are for you/what you need.

Can anyone playing T150 PW 1 degree weak (45) and T100 GW at standard loft (50) comment on how that's working out?

Any thoughts on how performance would differ between a T150 GW 2 degrees weak vs. a standard T100 GW?

In simplistic terms, the 2* weak will add 2* bounce to the T150 GW (which is 48* stock).  Believe there will be a fraction less offset as well.

I have this setup with the T100 GW but no outdoor experience yet. Hopefully I will be getting outside soon. I hope and think it should Work out well. But time will tell.

I will chime in now that I’ve had these in the bag for a few months now. I got fit by club champion and was fit into C Taper 130X. There was no doubt that at the fitting, I was finding the center consistently with this shaft.

I just think that on a day to day basis, it’s a bit too much shaft for me on my off / slow days. I was swinging 6 iron 96 mph during the fitting but I feel like that is about my top speed without swinging out of my shoes. It’s easy to get good and warmed up and in a groove when you’re taking 40+ swings in an indoor environment.

I have been playing some pretty poor golf as of late so I’m in the process of throwing TI X100’s in. I will hold onto the C Tapers for now and see how the old reliable X100’s perform.

I had my reservations about the T150’s flying too far but I haven’t seen that on the course. I had the OG ZX7’s a few years ago and found them to be too long in the stock lofts. I think the size and shape of the head is perfect and I’m extremely satisfied with the heads when struck well. Looking forward to seeing how these perform with the X100’s this week!
