Pricing overall isn’t too surprising but $175 seems a bit excessive for this one.

Β

Im not against payin one fiddy for a nice shirt in principle. But I wouldn’t buy online without trying it on unless I already know how a brand fits me

Β

Wonder how this will go as far as being available in retail locations. Best to partner with higher end retailers that feature other fashion brands.Β
Β

Look, 3D Jerry! 🀣

I have a family member that is in fashion merchandising. I know just enough to be dangerous (love that saying πŸ˜†). There are several levels of quality. Like within Levi’s for instance I believe there are 5. Type of stitch, zippers, materials blah blah etc. And pricing is not solely dependent on that, but also to what market/demo the brand wants to go after. So to simply say β€œoh wow, $175 for a simple poly blend is stupid.” Is a bit let’s say, uninformed. *Maybe they just don’t want guys like you wearing it??? Gucci t-shirts are almost $600. They not made outa precious metals! And I’m not condoning high prices and don’t own any Gucci shirts. Just giving a lil more context 😊
Β

*that part is a joke (kinda πŸ˜‰)Β

Β

**these points are from random conversations at family functions and might not be πŸ’― accurate πŸ˜‚ I can text for more detail if need be.Β

Correct. I don't think that they're trying to attract the budget crowd. the high-end consumer with disposable income is the main target.

Ya artificial textiles can emulate the look and feel of high end natural fabrics and be more durable and breathe better. They ain’t cheap to make and don’t look cheap.

Β

I’ll wait til TW stuff appears in retail, gottta try before buy!

Β

But I would order a hoodie like the one he wore on Today if it was black and full zip!

My son will just buy 2 or 3 sizes/pieces and just return what doesn’t work like it’s nothing. The return process is so easy n painless these days. A lot of ppl (older is my feeling) aren’t comfortable shopping like that. When he got new golf shoes he ordered 4 pairs! Two different sizes and in each size a wide and a regular. Gotta say it kinda horrified me! πŸ˜‚Β

That surprises anyone? First, there is a marketing angle for showing things 'sold out' quickly and it implies huge demand without necessarily indicating it. Initial production could be in smaller runs to generate that very impression. Secondly, immediate sales to fanatics doesn't in any way point to longterm sustained sales.Β

Β

I don't think it will go over well. Could I be wrong? Absolutely! Would not be even close to a first. We'll just have to see how it goes over the next months/years to know for sure.Β

Β

Or…lots of people bought lots of stuff.

Β

Which seems to be the case

Β

If you look at individual items, the hoodies for example, different colors will be sold out more than others, and different sizes sold out more than others, but it all varies from item to item.Β
Β

I don’t think some dude is sitting there like,

Β

”let’s put the sold out sign on the black M hoodies. But not on the white large hoodies” lol

Which I clearly indicated could be the case, but it isn't necessarily the case. Apple has multiple times been suspected of creating initial inventory short of expected demand for the very purpose of creating hype. I tend to be one of those 'first day' apple guys and have many times seen things out of stock within minutes.Β

Β

Just because people are paying outrageous amounts on eBay doesn't in any way prove that there have been millions of items sold, but you are correct that it also doesn't mean that demand hasn't been off the charts.Β

Β

Apple? Millions?

Β

This is just a rinky dinky thing for now, I mean if they sold a few thousand hats and hoodies, that’s a good start

Β

As you said, it’s the feedback from people who buy it and see it that will make or break long term

Β

It is a Taylor Made brand so I assume theirs reasonable support related to managing and promoting the brand over time.Β
