So I have the G430 Max 9 head digitally lofted. So it is 8 in standard setting. For those the made the switched from my head to the 10K, should I do it as well? How is dispersion? I like to have the weight in the toe, will I miss that options with the 10K? Thanks as always...

Depends on what your purpose is behind the toe weight placement and your ball flight desires. Without know these details, I’d suggest you try a 10.5° in big minus setting because of the spin difference between heads and toe weight preference to promote a fade or mitigate a draw. If the toe weight is there because you are a toe striker and put mass behind your strike location, I’d say 9° in standard.

The 10K is supremely stable. If you don’t have big curves in your driver right now then the 10K could work well. If big curves are present, a driver with moveable weight is best.

I do not have big curves just fear the "left". How is the launch of the 10K vs. the max? Higher less spin?

Been struggling with heel strikes with my 10k w/ chrome 2.0x.  Switched to a ventus blue tr 6x and couldn’t miss this center.  Don’t know if my swing was just on tonight, or if the shaft just fits me better.  Hoping this honeymoon period stays around!

In my experience, the Tour Chrome 2.0 shafts beginning with the G430 range are MUCH softer than previously.  In fact I played the Tour Chrome 1.0 shaft in my hybrid, with fond memories of it's performance.  That went out the window when the released the G430 hybrids with 2.0. and I had to go hunt down a Tour Chrome 1.0 from elsewhere and plug it in.

I feel the same way about the driver - the Tour Chrome 2.0 now plays soft to flex.  My theory is that the Tour Black is the new Low launch, so they backed off the CPM or torque on the new Chrome 2.0.  It's unreliable not he way down for sure.

Your findings are on par with mine!

I went in today fully ready to buy a G430 10k. But during the fitting i couldn’t turn it over, I was getting stuck and pushing everything. He had me hit the Qi Max next but I had the same result. He then had me hit the standard Qi and I was finally able to turn it over and hit a draw. So I think the 10k technology/head shaping just isn’t for me.

Drivers with extreme tail weight, whether that be through physical weights or elongated tails (from to back) have a different dynamic in regards to how the head rotates around the shaft.  Don't overthink it - you're obviously one of those cats who doesn't jive with those funky heads.

This is all correct in my experience. In fairness to Ping, they previously just had the one Tour 65 shaft in R and S. The S was quite stiff, and the R played like a S/R.

Now, the Tour Black is a true firmer lowish launch lowish spin shaft, while the Tour Chrome 2.0 is softer in stiff compared to the Tour Black and to the previous Tour 65 in stiff. For those reasons, the Tour Chrome 2.0 stiff did not work great in the G430 Max head for me, but works great in the G430 LST for me. Conversely, the Tour Black works better for me in the Max than the LST.

Ping should be able to cover more bases now in fittings with Tour Black and Tour Chrome, along with the Alta CB and Kai’li White, etc.

I prefer the Tour Black. Easier to turn over for me, but smoother, though still a bit fade biased. I did not seem to mesh with the Kai’li White. Though I do recall reading some reports just the opposite, that some found the Kai’li White easier to turn over. YMMV.

I still have both shafts on hand, but settled on the Tour AD IZ or VR in my Max, and the Tour Chrome 2.0 or IZ in my LST.

Thanks. Played the KW in my OG and Stealth2+. Very straight for me, but just needed to be in to get everything of it. Going to demo the 10k and might start with the Tour Back.

BTW, IZ is just a good shaft. Might be my favorite GD shaft. No clue why I ever went away from it.

I too hate left. I would say the 10K launches quite similarly to Max at the same loft and face angle. 10K spins a little less all things being equal. For you, a 10.5° set to F- might just be a nice compromise.

I bought mine after a fitting by employees at Roger Dunn with a Tour Chrome, but then went to a fitting with a Ping fitter and switched to an Alta CB 55. Better ball flight with the Alta with a nice draw. With the tour Chrome I fought a push that I couldn’t turn over so tended to leave balls out to the right.

What shaft are people using with their max 10k?

Original Ventus Blue 6S for me. Playing length at about 44.75. Swing weight is about C8.5. Felt too light at first but have adjusted to it at least for simulated rounds. Haven't been outside with it yet.

Driver: Callaway Rogue STMaxLS 10.5 Degree

5 Wood: Cobra LTDxLS @ 17.5 Degree

HZRDOUS RDX red and I really like it. Had the Tour Black 2.0 first and literally couldn't get it in the air.

Anyone played with the back weight?

I have a 19g that l will swap in for the 28 gram. Curious how that will affect it.

I did, but honestly saw the most reliability in shot shape/dispersion with the stock weight. I did see a bit more clubhead speed dropping down weights, but not enough distance gain to sacrifice the forgiveness/direction with the standard 28g weight.

Did a fitting yesterday. The 10k was the clear winner. The red smoke was a nice combo. We decided to do an other session later in spring since my swing speed wasnt where it us suppose to be. Cant wait to add this to the bag. The level of forgivness versus my epic speed was very noticeable.

Just ordered a 10K 10.5 degree with the Smoke Red 60. Currently playing a G425 LST with an AD DI 6 shaft. Bought an Alta CB, Tensei Orange, and Ping Tour 2.0 Chrome 65 to do a shaft test as well. The hype got to me even when I said I’m not changing a thing this golf season

Just ordered 9 10K with VF 6x @ 44.5". I am going to compare it to my 430 AMX digitally lofted 8 head with TR BLUE 6x.

How much was the Ping Tour 2.0? Might play around with the Chrome 2.0 on course at some point 🙂

Edited my post to clarify that it is a tour 2.0 chrome 65. It was a bit over $100 used. Just wanted to try all the stock shafts versus my gamer in both the LST head and the new 10K.

edit: $110 plus shipping

Got mine today. I don't need the shaft as I am putting it on my Autoflex. Playing tomorrow. I am excited to try this thing. I absolutely did not "need" this, the G425 was just fine. I hit all 7 fairways yesterday. I only hit it about 240 in the air, so I am not going to go two fairways away if I do miss. I am expecting to gain a few yards and not risk losing the left and right consistency. I play the Prov1 or V1x depending on conditions. For me the V1 flies lower and roll out well on the dry Tennessee fairways this summer. I hope to exploit that further with the slightly lower spin driver head.  I traded in an old Maverick driver and had a $200 gift card so I was $368 out the door. That price just seems more reasonable than $648. Lastly it sounds better than the 425. So I am buying a few more yards and a new sound at impact for $368 lol.

Can someone please clarify shaft length tip to butt of grip that gets you to a 45.25" playing length? Ping CS 44.75" but I think that is incorrect. The head would appear to add more than 0.5". Also, none of the stock Chrome 2.0 or Black 2.0 shafts are 44.75".

They are listed on Ebay at 44.25".

44.25” from end of a tour velvet grip to end of adapter is right for 45.25” playing length
