2024 PING 10K Driver Info

Switched my Max 10K back to "regular" from "flat" and it has made all the difference. Flight is straight or mild draw, and feels like it did when I originally tried it out. Hopefully we're in business now! Course was soaking today with zero roll out and was getting pretty close to my fitting carry numbers. 

 

Really hoping it'll dry out and I can continue to get comfy with it. It sure is a forgiving club!

This driver is amazing, my 10K big dog had puppies, picked up my new G430 Max 3 & 7 woods today, that's how good it is, just need to dial it in a bit more.

 

The wind & dust is brutal here today in Palm Springs hoping it settles down & back out to the range tomorrow.

 

Bag's almost all G430's that's a first, too.

Just a heads up. I ordered a digitally lofted 10k with hot melt on 2/23. It was delivered today. I was originally quoted 6 weeks. 
 

$15 for the hot melt and $15 for the loft.

I have a PING fitting tomorrow. I've been playing Ping drivers since G25. Excited to hit the 10k.

Head came in today.  Oddly (and NOT upset at all) the 10k with 5g hotmelt in the toe weighed in at 200g. Same as my flat black TSR3

For those that are getting heads with hotmelt, is the backweight still 28 grams or is it lees to compensate for the weight of the hotmelt?

Finally got my new 10k to the simulator. I immediately swapped in my 6X tour ad-vr shaft.

 

Immediate first thoughts:

 

1. Softer impact feel compared to my G410+, definite improvement

2. Spin continues to be very consistent, even as impact varies.

3. Head looks massive compared to G410+, this will take some getting used to but I also think it will inspire confidence on the course

4. Sounds like a Ping...

5. Swing speed between  G410+ and 10K unchanged (~115)

6. I was getting more 1.5 smash factor readings with 10k vs G410+

7. I'm a big fan of shallow head design, as my preference is to tee it low.

i am getting a de ja vu of the Cobra L4V X when hitting the G30 MAX10K. not as loud but same as how the face holds steady and doesn't deflect open on toe hits. i mean i hit one on the very top edge corner of toe and it still flew out there with only a 10 yard draw. anyone else felling same way?

After some swing mechanic improvements made this winter, my 430LST isn’t hitting the launch/spin window I’d like. Bordering on too low. 10k sounds like it will fit the bill a bit better for me with the added launch. It is first on my list of heads to try.

Mine still has the 28g back weight. Total head weight is 205g. Ventus tr black 6x at 44 3/4” is D2.5

I tried all 2024 drivers and left the building with Darkspeed LS. It felt right for me and looked great from the top view, which was better than 10k.

My back weight is still 28g too for 200g total.

I did all the silly season fittings.  Cobra sure was pretty but the misses were too severe for me.

just had my fitting for max 10k.  Current gamer is the OG Stealth.  Took a while to find a combo that really felt good and ended up in what seems like a strange setup BUT was ridiculously consistent with it once we landed on it. 

 

The ended up putting me in 12 degree head (vs 10.5 on my stealth), set on the flat down setting with a bit shorter/stiffer and heavier shaft vs my stealth.  (Kai'Li white vs Hzrdous red smoke 60).  

 

distance was similar to my stealth.... but with range balls and one day of swings, tough to really know.  Maybe a tad longer but impossible for me to say that confidently.  Dispersion was dramatically better.  I'll buy it because I'm a sucker and want to see if it translates on course but I felt like I could swing SO much more freely with this setup.  probably hit 25 balls with this setup and only one of them would have missed the fairway.  Hit one high toe that would have been a death blow with the Stealth and it probably still went 220 straight.

Worked with a bit more to get more comfortable with it, and played it today. Missed one fairway, and it had a bit more piercing ball flight than my 400 max. Happy with it.

I love my G430.  But all of the 10k talk has me feeling like G400 users felt when the G400 Max came out....

Considering ordering one of these drivers from DSG ( I have credit to spend ). So my question is if I order it with a 44.5 inch shaft, Will ping adjust the swing Weight to the standard d3 automatically? DSG has no section to add custom notes when ordering.

Depends on shaft and grip selections. Ping uses a program to estimate SW so before you pull the trigger call them with your specs.

I did a fitting and it was a disaster. A combination of a bad swing day and a not so good fitter? I was surprised because he was a Ping rep and had all the tools and even Trackman. He did not even ask me the basic getting to know questions about myself and my game. Just went straight to hitting balls with my own driver first. Fitting session for 45 minutes was just awful. I felt like it was just a demo of clubs. Did not even show me the stats like spin etc with each of the drivers I tested. Oh well. 

 

Anyway, I have been a long time Ping user and I am very familiar with Ping drivers and for some weird reason, it seems like only Alta CB shafts are the shafts that really works for me. I tested the G430 MAX last year and loved it but never really bought one. I just got the G430 MAX 10k today in the 9 degree head and the Alta CB shaft. 

 

I played indoors using my sim and all I can say is that this driver is indeed stable. Fairway after fairway and the ball speed and distance is preserved even on mishits. It's no magic club but it does work as advertised. I love the sound and the feel off the face. I have been testing a G425 MAX indoors and good grief my ears have been hurting for a week or two now.

Hahahaha sorry, I was typing in a hurry last night. I went on a mini fitting with someone else at our local golf store. lol I went with my hunch that the Alta CB would work best for me and that was what happened after we tried the other shaft offerings.

Popped the 34 gram weight in and was surprised I could feel the difference in head weight. I am only playing indoors in a simulator but it appears the distance is about the same but noticed slightly better dispersion. I think I will keep the heavier weight in. I am playing a 44.5 inch Diamana GT so the swing weight should be closer to stock weight at least with the 34 gram weight.

I went in today fully ready to buy a G430 10k. But during the fitting i couldn’t turn it over, I was getting stuck and pushing everything. He had me hit the Qi Max next but I had the same result. He then had me hit the standard Qi and I was finally able to turn it over and hit a draw. So I think the 10k technology/head shaping just isn’t for me.

I've experienced this before but not with the recent drivers but for some reason in the past, there are just drivers and their shape and how they look that makes me hold on to the club after impact thus creating what you experienced. Did you try lofting up to close the face a bit?

 

I played a few 18 holes with the 10k indoors and so far so good. This club is indeed a fairway finder. A bit more stable than the G430 Max that I tested last year. And I thought the Max was already a perfect driver for me.

We didn’t close the face. I hit the 10.5* and a 9* heads standard. Maybe something to test next, though. My ball speed and distance were up with all of the heads I tested so I’m going back to spend more time to dive into the right head/shaft combo.

So, I left for a little while and went to the Qi10 world...but I'm back thanks to the new Ventus Blue Velocore+. Made the 10K a point and shoot for me...so far. Could be a honeymoon period, but only time will tell.

I picked up the 10K with a Tour Chrome 2.0 stock shaft and really liked the look and feel of this shaft.  Kind of reminded me of the Diamana Whiteboard in looks and smoothness.  Not sure if it would perform the same way but just kind of reminded me of that shaft.

Just ordered a blue velcore plus as well. Hope it works.

I have a 10k that is 204.4g with adapter, and a 2024 Blue 6x in it.  With a tour velvet at 44.75" it is close to D3-D4
