I think Mike Newton leaves them all in too. But not 100% on that.

I think Mike pulls shots too just based on random clip edits.

Side note, the youtube reviewers crack me up. Finch said it was unforgiving, like WAY unforgiving, gave some false data, and then my next review, TXG, said how it was incredible how it can perform on all these mishits. LoL seriously…. I may stop watching anything youtube and equipment now.

Stock is 45.5 per the Cobra site. You can customize it when you go to pick the shaft, just hit CUSTOM SHAFT in the drop box. 1 inch short is the most they’ll go, so it might not be offered in the Tour Length as a separate option like previously, time will tell.

Except you cant choose the lin-q as a custom shaft. It forces you to choose a custom shaft and its not an option.

Really looking forward to cobra 3w reviews. I definitely intend to hit the ls.

 

If any of you had and toyed with the original m1 3w. If you split those 2 front weights, it produced added stability. Cobra put 19g weights in thr heel and toe on the ls and gave us a backweight. But...the weights are 15x15x3.

 

I intend to test a setup with as little weight forward as possible. Will use the 8g weight from a X fairway and then add lead tape. Will see what happens when you go light up front and heavy backweight in that ls head.

I tested some drivers tonight including Darkspeed LS, Qi10 LS, TSR3, G430 LST, and G430 10k. Darkspeed was the fastest for both ball speed and swing speed. I was able to swing the Cobra 1-2 mph faster than everything else. It was also more forgiving than I expected. It was the longest average but still as good as G430 LST for dispersion. 

 

It also sets up a touch open which protects against the left miss for me. For shafts, I tried Ventus TR Blue 6X, Tour AD VF 6X, and Linq White 60X. I matched up best with Tour AD VF but Linq white was also plenty good for a stock shaft option. All heads were the 10-10.5*

 

Might be the first time I put a Cobra club in play!

Before TM put the "inertia generator" on the SIM, Cobra had the F9 Speedback. It was TM that aped Cobra. Cobra moved on from that shape in the pursuit of aerodynamics. Aerodynamic head shapes are naturally high CG, high MOI shapes are rear biased CG, low spin drivers are low CG, higher ball speed is usually a forward biased CG. Cobra has always built low CG drivers. By getting rid of the speedback and moving the CG forward, aerodynamics improved and ball speed increased. The obvious trade off is lower MOI.

I agree. The guy clearly wanted the LS fairway to work, but the X was definitely his best fit. Would have expected the LS to have a clear ball speed advantage. From what I read, it seems like the Ti was mainly for the weights savings and not for speed. Always found the standard fairway to spin quite a bit and look a little small. Looks like I need to demo the X too.

The best fairway I’ve ever had was the original King LTD with the spaceport, and the second best may have been the Speedzone Tour.  I like Cobra fairways.  
 

I spent just a little time on the local simulator and found the X shape to be pleasing and the overall performance quite good.  Very Cobra-familiar and the black is cool.  
 

I went in lusting for the LS, but it was a little more demanding.  Probably a better second option mini-driver….but there wasn’t anything it did better than the X. The X elevated nicely (off the mat).

The Darkspeed LS was my surprise favorite color/shape of the new drivers I saw today. Also saw Qi10 and the Ai Smoke Max (but not the triple diamond). Didn't like the non-ls version shape of the cobra as much. The Darkspeed LS just looks fast visually. Some people may not like the shape. The 9* looks slightly triangular and the 8* is more exaggerated in a triangular way and looked a bit more stretched front to back. I enjoyed hitting them both. Was getting great b/s numbers and carry but I wasn't able to flip the weights around. I think the 8* with the heavy weight in the back and lofted up would be a fun bomber for me. Was getting some 1300 spin knucklers withe the 8* and weight forward which is obviously unplayable.
