Softest Players Irons

I've recently picked up a set of Titleist 735.CMs. I meant to get the stainless version to do a simple restore on them, but got the carbon chrome ones instead. Needless to say I'm happy I did. Ive used these for my last 3 rounds and I'm really loving how these feel. As I hit them decently well, I don't feel like I'm as good a ball striker yet to play them permanently, so im looking for a players (distance) iron that has a similar soft feel, or as close to as you can get. Not looking for straight up blades.

I've also recently changed shafts in my irons and it completely changed my iron play for the better. 

So instead of swapping my Rogue St Pro shafts (for now), was thinking of just picking up another set with a different set of shafts.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If the lofts on the Fourteen TB5/TB7’s are not too strong for you they have a really nice, soft feel.  The TB5’s are a large head for a single piece forging but I adjusted to it very quickly.

To be honest as lofts don't really bother me either way, I'd prefer them slightly stronger as the 8,9 & PW in this 735 set doesn't Gap well for me. I'll check them out!

PXG 0317 CB, softest feeling irons I’ve ever hit and I’ve tried almost every forged iron released in the past 20 years.

I have Srixon Z785’s in the bag and they are insanely soft.

I just took a set of Z-765's out, and they are also incredibly soft. I don't think you can find anything softer.

Wilson Staff CB's are up there, and you can get a new set on the bay right now for around $500.

Edel SMS or SMS Pro are buttery soft.  Great iron.

Z-765 are CB's. Z-965 are the blades. I actually have a combo set of both.

Any of the srixon can or mb models. Often feels like you hit a puff of air.

I'd definitely say PXG 0317 CB's are up there for soft feeling. Was using the Srixon 585s and 785s before and hit both the 785 and 0317CB in testing and to me the PXG was softer to my ear.

Find a PXG fitter near by and go for a fitting, they're like $25 right now.

Hadn't seen them mentioned yet, but the New Level irons are as soft as any Endo forging I've ever hit.  The 902 OS might match what you're looking for and they have a good selection of shaft options.  Build quality has always been top notch.

Just looked it up. Closest fitter is 4 hours away 😬 Might have to make a trip this spring.

Mizuno JPX tour of any kind, MP25 etc. IMO softer than Srixon/Taylormade which seem to have a firmer more clicky feeling.

Very true.  I had a set of 902pd’s and they were so good.  
New sets of OG srixon zx7’s can be had for a good price right now and they are very nice feeling.

True to a point, but if so then I hit this Titleist CB/MB set better than my current Rogue St Pros 🤷‍♂️

My vote is Srixon Z785 or any the 7xx series irons. i can hear the crispness when im on.
