OWGR's criteria has always included play-in/qualification requirements. This is not new. It was known well before May 2023, and it's always been LIV's biggest hurdle. They failed that requirement, obviously, hence the creation of the Q-school process. LIV was never meant to be an open shop.

In that presser yesterday Rahm didn't look happy that he landed a pot of gold. In fact his emotion was more like a defendant that was just acquitted for accidentally killing his best friend.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I read a story where the PGA Board is dragging their feet a little with the Saudis.  The story stated the Saudis gave Rahm the money to motivate the Tour into signing the deal or the Saudis will take more of the Tour's talent.

Yes, he said that before the Tour hopped into bed with the Saudis.  Jon and Rory took a stance with the Tour and the Tour stabbed them in the back.  I'm not sure why folks are surprised Jon took the money after the Tour did.  I wonder what Rory's thoughts are now? 

 

These tours are going to merge and Jon will be at least 300 million dollars richer.  It has been reported that the Saudis will kick in nearly 1 billion dollars for the players who stayed loyal to the PGA.  It'll be hard for the guys receiving that money to be salty with Jon.  Plus, I doubt anybody will get 300 million of that.
