Does anyone know the weight configuration required to get the standard head to play at 10K? I read that extra weight is required but I can’t seem to find the actual configuration.

Up front you have (2)2.5g weights with a 12.5g weight in the back. PXG notes this in their details on the website.

Below is what I'm curious about. My read is the stock form doesn't get the driver to 10K, but it can get there via adjusting the weights. If my read is correct, does anyone know what the 10K weight configuration is?

From what I understand, you don't have to add much weight to the rear port to increase it beyond 10k (probably by a hair).

So, put 15g or 17.5g back there and it'll get there.

Yes, but the 2.5-gram weights aren't marked as such, and my fitter could have, hypothetically, used other weights.

Thanks, everyone!

No, and that can make it misleading. I thought at first when I took them out the first time that there was some sort of mistake.

I had the standard black ops head at 10.5.   I didn't like the upright lie, and was hitting it really high.  Shifted loft down to 9, which helped, but kept hitting it literally all over the map.  Maybe the ventus blue 6-x was too much for me.   I even put my favorite shaft in it (after ordering pxg tip) which was a Tensei 1k white.   Hit it in the sim but was still all over.  At the end of the day, the head is too ugly and too inconsistent.  Put the ventus back in and mailed it back to PXG.   Putting the tensei back in my TSR3.

So I guess I will ask the obvious questions. If the club is SO ugly, why did you buy it in the first place? Second, you complain about it being too upright, did you try the PXG setting on the adapter that makes it 3* flat?

I feel like the TSR3 and Tour-1 have more in common with the 58.5° standard lie and deeper face. I like flatter lie angles, frankly. I didn't like the elongated look of the Standard. I don't recall how much of a difference there was, but it stands out in my memory. 'Tis why I bought the Tour-1.

How's the tour 1 been working for you?

Dunno, indoor fitting, couldn't tell.  The lie is adjustable? oh well, lol

Then gen 5 has been one of the best drivers I've tried in the last few years.  I definitely wish I wouldn't have sold it.  I'm actually considering trying one of the new pxg's.  I think they're severely underrated and the hate seems to come from local shops that can't sell them.

I liked Gen5 over Gen6 and feel they fixed the Gen5 problems in the Black Ops line. Go get it!

Quite literally just bought it and it arrives tomorrow. Even after the fitting gave inconclusive results I still didn't like the standard enough to buy it. I tend to like deeper driver faces as it is; not because I can shape shots at will (I cannot LOL), but I just tend to hit them farther and better.

I really don't think it makes a ton of difference in the end, so it came down to the looks and shape of the head which the T-1 won.

As I posted earlier on this thread I had bought a 9* BO's Tour-1. After multiple set ups/weight configurations I never got better numbers than with my Gen 4.

So on a whim I picked up an 8* BO's Tour-1 on the BST earlier this week. So I got it yesterday. Swapped the 12.5g back weight out for a 20g, left the 2 x 2.5g's in the front. Set it on the Flat setting at -1.5* loft, so playing at 6.5* of loft. Played 27 holes today and absolutely flushed it all day with a perfect mid-trajectory flight and nice roll outs. What a fun day !!!!!

That's pretty much exactly what I'm going to do. I really don't care what the loft setting is, but the lie at -1.5° is clearly a sweet spot for me... Until I get tired LOL.

I'm actually planning on doing the exact same thing with the 20g in the back, but I might start with 2x 7.5g up front. When I did reduce weight on the Gen 5 that really did seem to be a sweet spot.

It also has arrived at the CLT FedEX Hub so it looks like we're on time for afternoon delivery. 😄

Yes. The adapters have not changed.

In fact, I'll be likely sticking with my current gamer shaft. I ordered it with the Free Tensei 75x option to try it. The fitter recommended I stick with the shaft I'm currently using as it is.

I took my Ventus Black from my Gen5 plopped it into the BOP Tour-1 and it's responded great. The Tour-1 plays very similar to the Gen5 0311, not the XF, IMO.

Well that was fun, for about 50 balls. It was the fastest I’ve tested this year and fit my spin window

Right until it started caving in

Black Ops Tour 9°. Swing speed low 120’s. Whenever a head is a few MPH faster than the rest, I am worried 🤣

If its fast, it don’t last. Will see how they are with warranty claim, but obviously I won’t be playing this head or BO moving forward

I must say, this is probably one of the reasons we don’t see Jake Knapp in this head. This thing is 5+MPH faster than a G425 head, I have one here

Man I am hitting the crap out of BO's Tour-1 / AF combo. 3rd day in a row so honeymoon period is still going.

Brutally windy day here today so swapped the Autoflex shaft out for the Proxima 5s. The Proxima is a hair shorter than my A/F under normal conditions but easily 10 - 12 yards longer into the wind. And just so darn straight it's ridiculous. Has to be the best wind shaft out there by far. Just was hitting low-trajectory bombs ( for me anyway ) all day with the BO's and the Proxima combo.

In almost every review I've seen. the PXG hasn't had the fastest ball speeds.  They've been doing the best at maintaining consistent low spin and forgiveness.

Update - PXG is on its way back to Arizona. Was consistently 3-5 mph slower than the QI10 I have and not as consistent. Definitely did not see in real life what I saw during the driver challenge. Sounds terrible weight back too. Definitely not an awful club, but just not worth the dough for me personally. I’m sticking with my TM.

So, I took it out for a spin Friday.

First impressions are good. I still need to experiment with weight settings. The T-1 doesn't like off center hits as much as the shallower Gen 5 I had. Striking it high is very bad, and usually when I'm striking it high, I've bailed out and am low on speed. Those are pure knuckle balls; and the Standard head would likely be a better result for those.

Striking it True produced great results; though it is hard to say how much better in just direct sight, so I'll have to take it to the Trackman range to see.

Overall, the spin must have been lower given some of the flight characteristics, so I wonder if those old beat up limited flight balls will give an accurate result in the outdoor range based set-up. Even so, that variable will be consistent.

I feel like as compared to the Gen 5 311 it is better. I've no comparison to other clubs.

The range based trackman system does not (and cannot) give spin or other important details. So I will likely have a Launch Monitor purchase in my future.
