Does anyone know if PXG still has the option to pick up in Scottsdale? I went to check out and there was no option for pick up at HQ. Just curious before I call and ask. Thanks. Hate to pay the $40 for shipping when I've always had the option to pick up since I am local.

Yes you can, that's what I did a few weeks ago.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. There is no option on the website for it anymore.

You may have to order in-store.  I'm not sure on that though.

I did the challenge today but I didn’t realize that a real fitting wasn’t included with it. Despite that, I did see an increase in ball speed and some distance gains. They had me hit the Tour head to bring spin down but dispersion wasn’t great. I left a bit unsatisfied.

Did you try the regular head? I’m sorry you had a bad experience. May be worthwhile to go back with the master fitter for a proper fit. I had an excellent experience at the store I went to and actually ended up buying one!

Yes. I was offered 3 options about a week ago: $40 to ship it to my house, $15 to ship it to the fitting location I used (Glendale), and free to Scottsdale.

The clubs are shipped from Tucson. (Not sure if they're assembled there or in Mexico.) I imagine they have regular shipments from Tucson to Scottsdale, which is why that's free. Getting it to Glendale costs a little more, and getting to your house even more than that.

The fitting is just $25, and they return it if you make a purchase.

I got my driver today!  Unboxed it and went straight to the course.  AWESOME!  The results that I saw in fitting were echoed on course.   Compared to my Qi10 LS, the pxg tour 1 was consistently 8-10 yards longer and more accurate.  I was amazed that shots I expected to be short, like toe shots, we're actually right beside the good hits.  This driver controls spin like no other.

Nice! Looking forward to give mine a go if it ever shows up.
It’s currently being held in the 9th level of FedEx hell.
I just wish that PXG would move shipping to UPS…..every other order is an adventure with FedEx.
I don’t mind paying the shipping charge but at least use a service that does what it says it will every once in a while…..

Rant over…….

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to hit the standard head. Not enough time, which was my fault because I booked the wrong fitting. I’m shopping for a new driver this year so I may go back for a full fitting.

UPS isn't any better. Had a club show up with the package badly damaged (shaft still in one piece miracle.) USPS took two weeks to deliver a club I sold a guy 500 miles away. They all suck once in awhile.

Looks like the 8° Tour-1 heads are in reasonable supply; I figure it should be in shipping by the end of the week. It's in assembly. So that's good news. 😄

Eager to try it out at the new Trackman outdoor tracked bays at the range nearby.

FYI, my last 2 orders were built in Tucson.

They don't actually build anything in Tucson, that's just where the clubs that are built in Mexico come in to and get shipped out from there.

The only assembly facility they have in the states is at HQ in Scottsdale.

The Black Ops driver is an improvement over my TSR3. It is more forgiving on off-center hits. Unquestionably.

For most of my playing days (more than 30 years now), I've fought having too much backspin on the driver. The TSR3 (and two of its predecessors) was a real find in that regard. But it was a finnicky beast.

As I aged my swing speed slowed and, at 64, it is down to the 100-102 range. The Black Ops provides more spin, which helps improve my carry distance (moderately) and accuracy (a bit).

I ordered the club at a swing weight of D-5. It came in at D-4.5--close enough that I can't tell. (And knowing that the variability in scales is greater than that.) But...I decided to put on a Winn Excel grip (instead of the Dry Wrap I was able to order.) This bumped it to D-6, which I DID notice. And liked. So, I decided to add 2 grams to my iron heads, bumping them up to D-4. It's only one swing weight point, but I've been moving from D-1.5 to D-3 anyway. So, quite by accident, I'm really enjoying the slightly heavier feel. Thanks, PXG! Who woulda thunk it?

Weight gives a better feel of control some find quite beneficial. I went a bit overboard with the driver,  but in the irons I just started testing D5/6 through a shaft and length change and my sequencing feels better.

When the T1 gets here. I'm most definitely adding the 20g to the back,  but I believe I'll start with the 2.5g weights up front. I feel like I need to get away from the 240g driver head lol

I'm trading trading my 9* tour 1 for a 10.5* tour 1.  I need a little more launch...  Hoping to get some higher low spin bombs.

I tried the Black Ops driver and ended up returning it. I hated it. Hated the sound (especially on misses, sounded like it broke), hated the way it looked.  Really disappointed as I was excited about this club. Maybe it was the shaft but i don’t think so.

You have the standard or the tour?  What are you gaming?

A question on weights. I can't seem to find anything on the weights that indicate their weight. I was considering getting the weight kit, too, but I can't tell if the weights there are labeled, either. And I'm not finding anything on the Web about this. How can one adjust the weights if one doesn't know which is which? (I guess my fitter can tell me which weights were put where, but that would be it.)

Can anyone slap me around and get me to notice what I'm missing here?

The 2.5g weights are the only ones without the weight etched into the underside. There's just no room for it given the size of the pellet. The 5g and up all have it on the bottom.

The aforementioned top pattern is also an indicator, but without reference one would not know otherwise.
