Depends on what's hot, before it seemed like for driver was almost always TaylorMade but recently seems to be more Titleist but you also see more Ping, Callaway, and TaylorMade.

Irons it varies on what guys like, you saw Justin Rose playing Cobra this year and you'll get guys testing Cobra cause of that.

Wedges almost always Vokey.

Putters usually towards Cameron

Ball usually Titleist.

Just from actual equipment (balls and clubs), I agree with this list. Mizuno seemed like it was the iron choice for free agents, but most of those free agents have since signed or found other stuff they like instead.

There is also a two other huge areas that have a lot of usage on tour, and I'm guessing are played without any sponsorship: grips and shafts. It seems most guys have True Temper dynamic gold shafts in their irons and/or wedges, with some lesser use of Project X (also owned by true temper), Nippon, and KBS. There appears to be more variation in wood shafts with Fujikura and Mitsubishi seeming to have the largest presence. Grips are also largely either Golf Pride or Lamkin. I know a lot of guys also use Super Stroke on their putter with Spieth and Sergio being their only notable sponsored players.

Titleist TSR3 (9) C2; Ventus Blue 6X

Titleist TSR2 (15) A2; Ventus Blue TR 7S

Callaway Paradym HW (20); Tensei 1K Pro Blue 80S

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus Rescue (22); Ventus Blue HY 80S

Miura KM 700 (5-PW); MMT 125S

Mizuno T24 50/08, 54/10; DG Tour Issue S400

Ping Glide 4.0 60ºE; Nippon Z115

Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7; BGT Stability

Shafts and grip sponsors are extremely rare I mean Justin Rose is a Lamkin sponsor and the LAGP guys are cause they're part owners in the company. But Golf Pride just dominants grips and True Temper shaft just have been around forever it's a feel thing players are used to and most guys will have an iron shaft they prefer, wood shaft, etc. Hard to go top to bottom with 1 brand in shafts.

But hard to say what really dominates cause it's whatever is hot, look at the Jailbird and LAB putters this year.

Depends on which tour you are talking about.  On the Senior Tour, Srixon irons get the most "unsponsored" play along with Titleist.  The latter being more of a old habit for most.

On the LPGA, the Ping i200/i210 has been a long time favorite even among non-sponsored players.  At one time, they accounted for 60+% of the irons in play.

One thing to consider is that free agency is more difficult for the ladies and non-status Senior players due to reduced prize money and the cost of travel.  Status Senior players have their career earnings to fall back on.  Only the very top LPGA players have amassed sustainable wealth to lean on during an off year.  So sponsorships are the name of the game in those instances.

On any tour, comfort level and visual/feel cues win out over anything else, even when a sponsorship is at hand.

Which brand is most used on tour without sponsorship?  I guess there would be different leaders depending on the clubs (drivers, irons, wedges, putter).  Are there such stats/info available?

You’d have the find the Darrell Survey info. They keep track of bags every week

The WITB photos on this site are very good too but a small portion of bags
