New Titleist 2 wood - 2024 The Players Championship

How many CCs?

The TSR2 13° fairway is 190cc, and the standard TSR2 fairway is 175cc.

So seeing as Titleist are naming this 13° Fairway a 2 Wood instead of the above mentioned 13° 3 Wood, then I assume it's going to be larger than 190cc.

I hope its less than the Taylormade 300cc mini driver. A typical 2 wood size would be perfect to me. Something around 220-250cc.

I do have to wonder how much this might be a 'Masters' club.  Seems we always get a rollout around particular tournaments.  Something like the Masters with tight draw holes gets a club like this, you see utility clubs roll out around time for the British, etc.

First thought was the brnr. Probably good option for all the high cappers that "can't hit driver"

Oh I can hit a driver, but with a bad back and low swing speed I don't really lose any distance going 300 mini and it lands in the fairway all the time so I can have decent chances with irons/ wedges to make pars. It's all math...

I really see the appeal, and I've even tried two different mini drivers / 2 woods in the past, but alas my eyes are bigger than my skill-set, and that type of club isn't for me, i.e. there's no room/place in the bag for it. Try as I might, I simply don't have the confidence (and barely the swing speed) to hit a 12-13 degree club off the fairway; and off the tee - well, modern drivers (and even not so modern drivers) are so forgiving that I didn't find any gains/benefits with either the TM or Callaways minis I tried over my trusty old Ping G10 12* driver with the Aldila NV 65-S shaft cut down to 44.5 inches.

I wish I were good enough and long enough to use this Titleist 2-wood, it is soo cool. And as noted above, for the tour pros, perhaps the perfect club to turn right to left on a couple of Augusta's key holes coming down the stretch.

This thing looks so good! Like other "mini drivers" I don't think it has a spot in my bag, but I wish it did!

I could make room . . .

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

The fact it looks very similar to my beloved Nike T60 from several angles means that this has piqued my interest.

I never really use my 3 wood that much, the one I have is great when I do need it (the Callaway AI Smoke Max) but I have a 300 mini driver that I sometimes throw in the bag for certain holes and conditions. This might be a potential replacement for the 300 mini as the only "issue" I ever really had with it was that it was too big to hit off the deck for me (I could do it, but not easily).

Looking forward to more info and price (I am going to assuming 350-400 if it comes out for the plebs like us).

I tried to scale it a bit off the brnr to compare size.  My guess is it is a similar face depth but shorter from heel to toe and shorter from front to back; maybe around 270cc.

Great comparison shot!  That Titlest looks so nice and clean.  This thing cannot get released soon enough🤤

Or more likely, most tour drivers are built for a one-way miss, not allowing for golfers to draw a driver. Scottie Scheffler is on record mentioning his driver is “built for a fade“ This club would give a golfer a chance to work a draw off the tee with more distance than a 3 wood.

With that deep of a face I expect to hit this with more a driver swing? Tsr2+ is a big fairway wood that one would hit down on with a steeper aoa.

There's no chance this comes to retail in this particular form, especially with the TSR line on its deathbed. Maybe the new line will have it

Not so sure, this may not have anything to do with the new driver line that will be coming out later this year.  This may just be a standalone product.

Off-cycle periods are precisely when these types of clubs get launched. They are intentionally released as gap fillers. It's possible that what hits shelves won't be branded as "TSR" (although I think it will be), but whatever it's called it will look pretty much just like this. The club guys are testing at the Arnold Palmer is clearly a nearly finished product, not an early-stage prototype.

 The Titleist is very clean and polished. I’ll miss the thong on the TM club face if I make the switch.

I could use this in my bag. Hopefully it would feel the same once I started using it.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

No one was testing these at API and these are indeed the finished product or they wouldn't have been sent to the USGA for approval.

Yeah, I mean guys were definitely hitting these at API, meaning experimenting for their own purposes (e.g., Cameron Young), but not "testing" in the sense of providing feedback on a prototype.

The new Titleist 2 wood was not being hit at API.  Cameron Young was hitting them this week at The Players.
