I don't think its the length that is issue. Like a 720 yard par 5 that is just long and straight does little. Thats a 300 yard drive, a 270 yard 3 wood and then a Wedge/9 iron competition

 

Its there is often no penalty for hitting it as close to green. Need more water or OB that comes into play on 2nd shot.

 

You should do a separate thread. i'd love to discuss it further

Rollbackers love a tricked up course when it's the US Open. Nobody tricks up a course like the USGA...... can anyone say (Mike Davis).😄

Almost seems like the golf journalist world jinxed Scottie. All week long on radio, print, or TV, I kept hearing how Scottie would win this running away. Everyone crowned Scottie champ before the thing started. I heard one guy on XM radio say “they might as well not even play this thing, and just give Scottie the trophy to save everyone a lot of time”.   Another guy said “there only 3 people that can win this week:  Scottie’s A game, Scottie’s B game, or Scottie’s C game”….  I think the golf gods heard all this and said “Nope”

I always wanted to see a U-turn par 5. Not even kidding. Some guy made a course with one in PGA 2k23 and it was so fun to play.

I hope they show some of his shots, would love to watch him shoot an 85.  When I was younger, he was my favorite golfer, I loved his ‘go for it’ style of play. Then I learned what kind of person he really was….  Quite disappointing
