I couldn't help but a bit when I got to 0-1 = "you can tee it up with us anytime" ... that could be scary considering the writers I've encountered are hi indexers and a bit dorky... sorry nothing personal.

I think it's clear that someone who is a "Tour-Pro Poser" is likely to have personal attributes that would make a round of golf less enjoyable (golf skills and profession notwithstanding).

Being guilty of #14 is totally acceptable if you're painfully white. Golf slacks are far cheaper than cases of SPF 70. And we've all been guilty of # 20 when you hit a huge green miles from the pin. Most of us have a better chance of sinking a 10 foot chip than a 75 foot putt.

That said, those are my only two, so I'm safe!

i dont know if i would explain it quite that way -- but
if you know what you're doing out there, 5-6 of the questions are pretty standard for most people playing around scratch.
however, someone that cant break 80 probably shouldnt be answering yes on many of the questions....
maybe match your belt, shoes & hat once/year (for your club championship)

13 for me. I will admit that I'm somewhat difficult to play with...I don't really talk much to other people...sort of play golf and say the normal good shot stuff...talk to myself a lot...lol.

The thing about low handicap people in general, is that they are usually not fast players, unless they are trying to play fast. In real golf mode, we take our time to make sure we are comfortable with everything...and that takes a bit longer than just walking up and grabbing a club and swinging. You would think a person who isn't looking for balls much and is hitting it and moving to the right places would play quickly...but I find the opposite in every USGA qualifier I play in.

To the general sentiment of this thread...tour pro poser type people are difficult to play with, for sure.

I guess I'm guilty of 2, 7, 16, 19, 20, 22, and 23. Some of that stuff is intentional especially when I am playing competitively with friends. There are always some things I do to "let them know how good I am." I would add things like crushing a drive and the looking at the face of the driver in disgust as if it was hit funny.

Out of the ones on the list my favorite has to be the club twirling. I do it every once in a while just out of instinct after a really good shot, but for some "serious" golfers it has become part of their swing.

Hilarious list and I am definitely guilty of a bunch, especially the matching of the belt to the shoes. I don't get the lead tape thing, not my fault that you cant get a set of clubs that are above D2-D3 SW.

Edit: To the questions pertaining to how you dress, A buddy of mine in college always used to say if you aren't going to play good out there you can at least look good.

Only if you wear them to go the range to hit balls to practice........that should be double whammy points of poser.......plus if the shirt matches the belt which matches the hat which matches shoes which matches the white pants while you are still only hitting range balls.....should be grounds for termination.......

5 - duh. Ever play power cart golf? You're an idiot if you go all the way across a fairway with only one club.
12 - my daughter made me a ball marker that looks like a Plinko chip from The Price Is Right - I don't use it for marking my ball, but I do use it for putting practice when the green is full.
18 - I got a demo Callaway staff bag for $75 to use at indoor golf. It holds all my shi* and doesn't need to take 15 square feet like my poser Sun Mountain does.

guilty of 4 here, but I'd say more like 3 cause while a 1/2 dollar is bigger than a dime, its no where near as obnoxious as a poker chip and I keep a flat one on hand for when I'm close to the hole/in someones line

Shot shape......only when talking trash with my buddies never with a stranger or someone I dont play much with.
lead tape-none currently but in the past....
green in reg...only with a wedge or short iron, never with a fairway wood or long iron.

I think they are missing some however, how about
1. playing a new set of blades when you suck, your grandpa's hand-me-down's don't count.
2. complete matching set of clubs, bag and visor, towel from one manufacturer
3. Tiger head cover
4. Begins telling you about his entire set of custom clubs, shafts layers of tape under the grips, swingweight, cpm's sole grind flex point etc. before you tee off on #1
5. the guy who shoots around 90 and explains to you he is just playing a practice round for the big tournament later in the week.
