Amateurs with Staff Bags...Yes or No?(merged)

I'll post a comment about staff bags, if for no other reason, to move this thread away from a bunch of buys continually dropping their drawers to compare sizes of their own clubs.

Regardless of what one thinks someone is trying to project, accomplish, or show when having a staff bag, I personally could never see using one for practical reasons. They are so darn big and heavy. For one, I like to occassionally carry. But for those who don't, you might say it's not a huge deal to leave it at the bag drop before loading on it a cart. Maybe. But another reason against it for me is how a staff bag might not fit in a lot of car trunks. Even if the bag fits in your trunk, you might be in a situation where someone else is driving a smaller car and/or several bags need to get into a trunk. Just not practical in my mind.

Last point... A couple years ago I was at the US Senior Open. The one thing that stood out the most was how virtually no one had a staff bag. 90% of the guys - even very familiar names - had run of the mill carry bags. The takeaway was, if a club maker isn't paying you to have one, there's no benefit to a staff bag.

Ditto. I snagged a vaporX carry bag off fleabay for more than half retail (its branded with the speed trials distance comp), im sure most at the range assume im a longer baller now but in reality I just cant pass up a killer deal. Waiting for a strang branded staff bag to pop up now.

Low and behold, the group in front of us today had "3" staff bags... nice pretty ones. I won't go into skills, except to say, lacking on many fronts. Bags had no affect on any of us though. Their game did however; we waited and watched army golf on darn near every hole. Talk about a tempo killer.

My logo is a picture of my staff bag. I'm a 7.8 handicapper. Should I give the bag back to the lady who sold it in her garage sale? I'd hate to do that since I play TM woods and irons. I play an Odyssey putter and usuall Srixon Q-stars. Do I have permission to keep the bag? Please, please, please!

The Large-ish Cart bags are nice. If my game gets better, I'll upgrade next year sometime. For a nicer color, etc.

Indeed it is. I think the Callaway website is using the full sized staff bag photo for the mini staff bag photo. The one I was looking at looks more like the one below.
