What does it look now?

I am back to my Byron Morgan Epic Day Long Pipe neck copper plated putter. These pictures was when new, before the patina set in.

I'll post pics this weekend showing it now. It is much duller, like most copper putters. Very nice and no glare. Great feel!

I want to change my scotty any recommendations on a putter? Preferably heavy and mallet/mid?

Check out SeeMore, I personally have been using the stock PTM3 and have never putted better but they have other options as well. They also have countrrweight options and you can add up to 24grams to any putter they have. Plenty of options to take a look at!

Just played my first round with my new Button Back NP2. Had a terrible iron play and was able to lag my way to decent score. Really happy with it, and I expect to hold onto it for a while.

My C&L is firmly entrenched in the bag. I did play a round with the Cleveland TA Milled to check it out (it was good), but that is for my wife's bag not mine.

Just switched back to my SC Select Newport from my SC Futura X5 Dual Balance, but retaining a left-hand low technique I adopted when I bought the DB. I was having great difficulty with distance control with the heavy Dual Balance, the Newport is ~150 grams lighter. So far distance control really has improved, and I'm not having the alignment issues I had earlier with the Newport. Fingers crossed.

This has been my most favorite putter ever. The alignment is awesome, I have only used it for this season and about 20 rounds so far, but I have never putted better, abs with more confidence. I never realized how much I like a heavier head as well...my 330 gram putters feel hard to control. When I got it, it was because I wanted one for my collection and this happenned to come up for a decent price and I liked the look a lot. When I first used it, I was like meh, it is a nice putter, but nothing special for that kind of money, oh well. Then in practice on the greens it slowly started making more than my Santa Fe (gamer for last 2 years) and setting up better to my eye and all of the sudden the balance and weight and feel, Not off face but of the head at the end of the shaft, became something I really gelled with. O much so I just sent away for a quote for him to make my studio 1 a blade version of this exact putter with weights and alignment.

Thanks! Honestly it was stupid expensive, even with me getting direct from Japan it cost me like $725. I wanted isn't for my collection, this style also fit my eye and the alignment mill was a risk I took and probably why I got it for less than the 4 figure prices they get here. I totally thought almost buyers remorse when I got it. It is a nice fit and finish, but nothing is amazing to warrant the price. But in taking it to practice greens, it just sorta become a favorite of all my putters by doing nothing special other than making putts. I will say, maybe it's the weights, but this thing has awesome distance control when you miss the sweet spot, like bigger swings on longer putts, when maybe the larger stroke has you miss the center some, they roll out more than any of my standard answers. I don't know, I could never advocate for someone to spend more than $200 on a nice used perfectly awesome milled putter, but I think for all the money spent by many here, those spending that kind of coin on gamers should give a golds that fits their eye a shot past the first impression. I am now a believer and I have rolled a lot of putters.

I found the R7 TP to have an overall lower trajectory than the regular R7. But that's for obvious reasons. Outside of that, the moveable weight features is more nonsense than not. It takes a highly skilled player who can consistently hit the sweet spot to demonstrate that with the weights moved around, at best draws become a little straighter, same for fades. Maybe a straight ball hitter gets a gentle fade or draw. But what you will not find are changes in ball flight as dramatic as the TM wheel would suggest or the website. The pictures they show with weight configurations giving what looks like 15-20 yard draws are ridiculous.

As far as length goes, the R7 is not one of the longest drivers out there, not to 5, maybe not top 10. I attribute R7 fans who have them in their bag and claim they are long as golfers who have either the optimum setup for their swing and are very consistent hitting the sweet spot. Think about it, if you could hit the optimum spot consistently, and the COR is limited, the why would one driver be longer than the other by any significant amount? One may feel better, one may have a better dispersion, one may be more workable, but as far as raw length goes, they should all be close to the same unless you are using a shaft that is totally not right for you.

I will give the R7 TP props for accuracy. It may be 10+ yards shorter than my other drivers but it never seems to stray too far off path.

I wanted to like the R7, but I finally got worn out trying to dial in the right shaft to get the comfort and distance I was getting with other drivers. Maybe the new 425cc will prove to be better.

While the 1 hour on the launch monitor idea seems ok, but I am only a big fan of it if you are hitting balls outdoors. Hitting into a net is a better option than buying a driver without hitting it at all, but the better route is to get to a driving range that has a pro shop that will let you demo these clubs. Just as important as the numbers are the real results you see 280 yards away. There are just some drivers out there that may have great numbers on the launch monitor but they feel/sound terrible and over time that wears on you.

Good luck.

That's pretty
