Love the steel. I used to play ( and still have ) a 975J 10.5* with Rifle 6.5 steel at 44". The straightest driver I've played. I've thought about putting a 460 driver together with a Rifle 6.0 steel wood shaft I have at home but just haven't done anything yet. Robo is giving me the itch again tho.....= )

The Classic looks great from all angles but address. I have heard it is a deep face, low spin monster, but is anyone else having trouble getting past the alignment aid? I want one bad, but epic fail on the alignment aid Cleveland.

Damn you Robo!!! First it was the ZLE, of which I now own two of along with an Amp and a S3, but I just went to my stash of shafts and found two unmolested steel wood shafts! Now trying to figure out what to put them in.........

I had a 290 and had trouble with the right side with it. nothing horrible, but still. I'm wondering if a 310 8.5 w/ x100sl tipped 1.5-2" playing at 44.25 might be perfect....hmmm.

Damn, ROBO. That looks money! Got to be the most "classic" looking Classic out there. I could definitely see putting a steel or Ti shaft in a 10.5 for tight courses.

Is that an OG DG or DGSL in there? Do they even make DGSL for woods?

I used a standard DGX100 .350 wood shaft. I lost the little sticker - so I stuck on a DGX SL sticker from an iron shaft - just to get the cosmetic look

Just shot my my lowest round EVER ..

72 from the Blues at Covington CC in Mandeville LA. The ONLY driver I used was this one.

There is NO WAY !!!!!! anyone who tries a combo like this - steel & your fav modern day technology head combo can possibly tell me I'm wrong.

I cannot wait to try a ZLE with this. But I have to be honest ... I CANNOT see anything kicking this out. The Classic/steel combo is MONEY !!!!!!! ..... I am SOLD !!!!

I think I wanna try a 10.5 - MAYBE a 9.0 - but a 10.5 - 205g head - steel combo. That MIGHT be the ticket. Mine looks to be higher than 7.5 (indicated) - but it is just awesome.

Was the the distances between them if so?

Say I bought a J33R and a 46" x100. Would you trust your local golf galaxy to install the shaft to your specs?

Just got a .335 x100 and a RBZ Tour 1.5 adapter in .335. That should work right? I ordered it tipped an inch and buttcut to 43 3/4". How long would that play in am R11S? Around 44 1/2"? Any help is appreciated. I also got a 14 gram weight for this thing. How much should I weight the head?

With the weight of this shaft you really don't want to play it any longer then 44" MAX. Which means with the adaptor on the length of the shaft should be about 42.5 to play 44.

Tried a TP6HD ... OK .. Long ... Didn't like the shaft weight with that head - Felt dead

Tried some Miyazaki 73X C-qua(whatever its called) that was supposedly a Marino pull ... Hit it about 10-20 times - Yanked it and thru it in the TRASH !!!! .. Junk

 

DI-7X is in my other head ,... One of the longest drivers I own ... and STUPID LOW !!!!!!!!! spin ... Its staying in

It is DEFINITELY longer than steel ... No doubt

 

BUT ... The steely has the grin & confidence factor of 10. I love it

It's all about correct weight / swingweight ... As long as you trust that the builder knows what he's doing ... Sure

I'm thinking that the RBZ Tour would be a pretty awesome unit with a steel shaft. I have always had trouble keeping the one bad swing out of my rounds. Maybe all the weight in this shaft will keep me on plane more often.
