That I'm not sure about that? I would hope that they do so we can experiment with different shafts. They never answered that question today unfortunately.

I'll contact Discount Dans and see what they say. I really hope they do, I dont mind picking up a VTS or an Oban Kiyoshi Purple...though I'm curious about that white. If it's anything like the Kiyoshi Black, I'll have to pass, but the purple was nice.

I don't know about shaft only orders, but considering the tips will be making their way to clubfitters, you KNOW that they will pop up on ebay shortly thereafter!

That said, considering the dual axis tech with a knuckle (kind of like a CV joint I believe) you have to think the adaptors can't be cheap to make, therefore, may be pricey.

my local Golftown up here got their fitting bag today with a few shafts. the only problem is they do not have proper launch monitors.

I love everything about the tour head...except the performance. it was good, but the performance model head was just way more forgiving and felt hotter.

I tried the tour with stock kuro silver stiff, 7m3 stiff, vts black. I actually really liked the Tour with the 7m3.

then I tried the performance head with the silver kuro kage. this was a good combo, but was hitting everything with a tiny bit too much draw. put the x-flex silver kuro, set it at 8.5 right and this thing was money.

I'll go to a different location tomorrow with a foresight gc2 so I can get a better look at the numbers.

I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on a new driver now, but I want to do a fitting at the fitting studio first....but I wanted something new to game for my trip down to the states!

I received mine Wednesday and had a brief encounter with it during warmer temps yesterday (still in the 40's though). Really liked it, hot face, lower launch even on the 16* setting than I expected, but I am a high ball hitter so that's a good thing. Stock shaft is not bad, but need more time with it to make a decision. Wish I could compare X Hot Pro with it, but unfortunately still waiting for mine to ship.

Well, happy to report back to you all that reshafting a Covert driver is a fairly simple task.

 

The majority of the tip is metal, that small nub on the end is a small ferrule. The plastic ferrule is hard to save, but thankfully the small Callaway ferrules can be used.

 

Reshafted with my custom Accra Tour z, decided to have fun with the color scheme, added a no1 grip to it. Can't wait to hit it.

 

DC Area guys, go see Pablo G., he did a flawless job doing the reshaft. There were a couple of oddities, so now that he's gone through them, should be able to help you.

 

About the shaft lengths of the drivers, for example, if you measure by setting the clubs at address, and putting the toes against a wall and seeing how the length differs, the Covert Tour and 913 are same length, with RFE being longer. But if you use a measurer where it measures from the center of the sole to the grip tip, the Covert Tour and RFE are same length, with 913 being a 1/4" shorter. Just FYI.

 

 

 

 

Your reshafted driver looks phenomenal. I also reshafted my Covert driver and everything went well except for the fact that the adaptor sleeve turned a brass color. Anyone else experience this? I'm fairly new at club building so maybe that had something to do with it. Despite the color change of the adapter, it came out looking pretty good and I can't wait to hit it at the golf dome tomorrow.

Looking for clarification here...
When they say face angle and loft are independently adjustable, does that mean when you adjust the loft it will not make changes to the face angle like the R11 does, thus forcing you to use the face angle adjustment just to correct the changes made by the loft adjustment? Basically can the face angle be "neutral" and the left be adjusted from 9 to 10.5 degrees and the face is still neutral without adjusting the face angle adjustment??

100% yes. From 8.5 to 12.5 the face angle stays the same, through hosel tech they call dual axis technology.

In my opinion, it is by far the most advanced adjustable hosel in golf.

And the R1 still does not have that technology and as you adjust the loft you have to use the sole plate to adjust the face angle... wow. Glad I asked. Thanks!
