What is he trying to achieve with the different flex? He's went back and forth between 6.5's and 7.0's pretty much all year. When he was with Titleist he always had 7.0's if I remember correctly.

Maybe the course? He was using the 7.0's in his US open 2011 win, then shortly back to 6.5's shortly after and going forward.

Ball: Nike 2014 RZN Black

I know for a fact it used to be (an I think still is):
Driver: 45.5
3 wood: 43
5 wood: 42.5

From the pictures above, he's not using a VR Pro PW, he's done what he's always seemed to do and put a VR Forged wedge in. From memory with Titleist, he was playing a 47* or even a 46* Vokey, so would expect that loft to be similar.

He's got a naturally very high ball-flight, so I wonder if the switch back to the 7.0s is to bring the flight down some more. Especially in Australia, which was pretty much a hard and fast links course, you'd rather give up 5 yards carry and have more run out I would've thought.

Either way, nice setup and some seriously sexy sticks in there, considering I'm a Titleist guy!

I think you are spot on here; Im still shocked he uses such a long driver, dont get me wrong the dude can flat out move it. But he's not even 6ft, such a long driver, but hey, he's a former world #1 with two majors for a reason.

Stoked for Rory! Such a clutch putt! After seeing that video I'm glad I ordered the all back HyperAdapt!

Edit: All of his feedback is so solid, almost exactly what I would say.. Covert Tour more forgiving, 20Xi performance top notch but make it sound softer.. now if only I had his game!

I have a feeling that I will be purchasing the new RZN Ball. As well as the new Covert Tour 2.0.

Currently game the original Covert Tour, but an upgrade might be in the cards.

Yes I'm going to yell this - WHY HASN'T NIKE RELEASED RORY'S PUTTER? For the life of me I cannot figure that out - Nike is a sophisticated marketing company and has completely missed the boat on Rory so far. Maybe they are waiting for him to start winning again or win a major but they certainly missed out on releasing it when he signed with him. A proto 006 like his would sell.

Rory is so right about the fairway woods being hard to find one that fits. I had a tour issue v-steel that I used to love back in the day. Off the tee and from the fairway I could always trust it. Then one day I decided to change and lent out the v-steel. Needless to say I went though lots of woods during that span. I got my v-steel back and put it back in the bag and it is just not the same. Lost the confidence and mojo in the v-steel and now I am without a trusty fairway.
