Most ridiculous thing heard on the range

Not heard, but I saw this about a week ago. I'm on the range working on a drill to relieve tension in the right hand when what do I see? I guy walking from the right side of the range all the way to the left about 60-100 yards out depending on where the balls were. He was walking and putting balls into a bucket to practice with while people are trying to practice..WTF?

So I've gone off TO THE SIDE of the range well away from people hitting to pick up a few more balls or maybe I just showed up to hit 10.

What you describe is pure insanity! You're bound to get hit doing that.

This one guy was trying to do the one hand drill (left hand only) and was either duffing or blading the chips... (understandably)... when an old gentleman approaches him and asks very politely if he has considered putting the other hand on the club as well...

not quite, i hit it past MOST of his shots which rarely got even close to 200..most were well short

Reminds me of the time a TV celebrity showed up at my course for a round. He was well known for his one-liners and love of whiskey. A few people had hovered around to see him tee off. An elderly woman asked me to move over to the mats since I was damaging the nice grass.

Okay, kind of off topic; the most ridiculous thing I ever [u]said[/u] to someone on the range. I'm in the short game area of my local range, and I'm in the zone. I'm chipping like a madman, I don't have a care in the world because I am in the zone! Then I hear, 'excuse me,' I look up, there's an older lady (this was 20 years ago, so she's probably gone now), and she holds up a 7 iron and asks: "Is this my chipper"?

I look at her for a moment (I recognized her because she had been getting a lesson earlier and was the only woman at the range at the time) and then I replied, 'no, its your 7 iron'.

where did I say I'm hitting my 9 iron 200 yards...get off your high horses and read before trying to be a smart a** over an internet forum.

I didn't think I would have to break it down....I said his drivers weren't coming close to 200, this doesn't mean that they were going 195 here genius. Most of them were being topped and going next to nowhere, so yes my 130-140 yard 9 iron shots were going past them...

I had another one last time I went to the range with a brief respite from this winter cold.

I was minding my own business hitting 6 irons when all of a sudden the following conversations happened: a serious argument about basketball shoes, mike austin hitting the longest drive ever, the incompetence of all club builders, how hard it is to be a tall golfer (I'm 5'7") and that I need to goat hump more if I wanted to be a better player.

It was an emotionally draining large bucket of balls

Hm, I apologize if I made you angry by joking about golf and making fun of what others say when they're playing this game.

Walking through the range looking for a bay I see this young guy bending down to put his ball on the tee with his driver supporting him then head snaps off the club he's on the floor I'm standing there struggling not to break out laughing up he gets with what's left of his club laughing " eh you want these balls I ain't goinna be needing them anymore" off he goes I was nearly crying at this stage then another person passes staring at me not knowing what happend probably thinking I'm having a breakdown or something
