What are the best Mizuno irons ever?

For me it has to be the MP-60's. Best iron mizuno iron I have ever played. I now have the MP-25's and they are right there in my top 5 of mizuno irons. I dont understand why the MP-25's don't get more love as they are solid.

1. MP-60

2. MP-32

3. MP-25

4. MP-5

5. MP-54

Not even close for me, MP 33s

One of the best irons ever

Agree on all counts. MP-33.

I'm on my third set.

I have been building up some sets of 33's and 14's. Have been experimenting with diff shafts to get ballflight up some. I did a side by side comparison with the 33's with flighted 5.0's and the 14's with flighted 6.0's. truthfully the 14's win. May have to do with the flighted 6.0 's in them. Just arrow straight point and shoot. Just felt super confident hitting them. Ive had and gamed 29's forever and recently 33's. But its been a long time since I hit shots and said "wow" out loud. They were that good. Good thing i have backup heads hidden away. Thats not to sAy the 33's were lacking in amy way... Prob just not the right shaft combo for those heads for me ( flighted 5.0). Now gonna have to get anothet set of 6.0 flighteds for the 33's.

Until recently I would have said MP-32. Mine are still in nice condition for 10 year old sticks and, indeed, like all good golfers should, they have retired to Florida (i.e., they are the set I keep in my condo in WPB so I don't have to travel with golf clubs). Last year I began a love/hate relationship with the MP-15's. It has taken a while, and a lot of cheating on my part (on the clubs, NOT on the scorecard), but we have not only made our peace but I now think that these are the best set of irons I have ever owned (and I have owned many).

They look, feel and and perform like blades, but they are, as advertised, just enough more forgiving so that you can still put up a good number with your B game.

So, my vote for best Mizuno set of all time goes to MP-15.

In my life I have owned 4 sets of irons (for more than a year at a time). I went from T-Zoid True in HS to RAZR X Forged in college to MP-32 after school to my MP-58 (current gamers). I find the 58's to be much more forgiving than the lot and I love the weight and feel of them. I have never owned or hit 33's or 14's or 64's but I hear good things... I have hit the 4's and that was a pretty pure blade. Honestly if time has taught me anything it's that you can't go wrong with any iron Mizuno makes!

Sadly for the little blade-lover in me, the Mizuno irons that have worked best for me have been the JPX 800 HD. I broke 80 a few times with those fat bottomed suckers and it's hard for me to walk away from that kind of success but I've just got to give a fair shake to the stuff that I bought and didn't truly game enough to give myself a definitive answer. Besides, even if it doesn't become a permanent thing, I'll be able to yakk more with the blaidoids on Bigmean's thread. They are super gearhead geeks and they are super gearhead geeking out! There's no reason we can't all get along.

Just on looks the MP5's right now are smokin but I love my 53's, wouldn't trade them for anything.

Ive played MP30 and MP33. Just put 32's in the bag and have only hit the range with them. The 33's are easier to play than the 30's. Don't know why, but they are. I'm thinking hard about finally getting some modern irons, and while I love the MP line, I keep checking out the JPX 900 Tour. That finish looks so damn good.

That would be whatever model Faldo wielded around St Andrews in 90 when taking down the Shark.

Could Nick strike a blade well or what.

That would be the TN-87s...well played.

Just re-reading his 'Swing for Life' and finding a lot of the drills to be simple and effective.

For me, it's my current gamers, so either the MP-4 or MP-5. Mizuno doesn't make a "bad" iron but if I had to rank all the irons I've played or tested in the past from the MP series, I'd rate them as follows:

MP5

MP4

MP64

MP68

MP67

MP69

MP60

Mizuno ST 190G w/ Fujikura Motore X F3 6S

Mizuno ST-Z 15° w/ Fujikura Motore X F3 7S

Mizuno ST-Z 18° w/ Fujikura Atmos Black TS 7S

Srixon ZX7 4-PW w/ Nippon Modus 120 Stiff

Taylormade MG 50°/54°/58° w/ Nippon Modus 115 Wedge

Piretti Cottonwood II
