High loft driver head....Low loft low spin shaft...Anyone else?

I find on this forum that guys playing low lofted driver heads are always looking for low flight low spin shafts.

I have found that high loft driver heads with low launch low spin shafts work best for me.

Anyone else in this camp?

I've tried it. The high loft heads can't be overcome as easily w lower torque or higher bend shafts. My 2 cts.

F6+ at 11.5 with the weight second to last paired with an 125 Rogue.. technically not a low launch shaft but...

An example of what I am saying or trying to say is, I have a g400 10.5 with an Atmos black that works well for me.

I was fit into a m3 8.5* head with an aldila nv2kxv orange 65X shaft. So low loft high launch shaft.

This is what I’ve been playing the last couple seasons with good success.

Whatever gives me the best combo of ball speed, launch, spin and accuracy is what goes in my bag. Currently playing a TI M4 9.5° (true loft) with Tensei Pro White 60 Stiff. Waiting in the wings is a 10.5° M4 and Tensei Pro Orange 60 Stiff and Tensei Pro Blue 60 Stiff. Mix and match as I need.

Having tried both high loft/low launch and low loft/high launch setups, I found that I get more distance out of the lower lofted head due to spin reduction. However I got a lot better dispersion with the higher lofted heads. I am still looking for the mythical perfect combo for me but I am having loads of fun with the wrong stuff!

I'm not a high spin player, so yes a higher lofted head and low spin shaft work for me.

I stumbled across the combo you state after a buddy gave me his Aldila Rogue 110 stiff 60g stiff to try in my '16 M2 10.5* head which I turn up to 11* sometimes.

Its the best combo I have used in years after always searching for a high launch low spin shaft.

I'm getting 14* launch and 2000 spin at 105 to 108 swing speed.

I’ve tried it and it works great for me. I used to go 8.5 degree driver as I’m a high ball hitter but my new weapon of choice is 10 degree m1 with the weight almost all the way back with a beast of a low spin low launch shaft

I really think that the op’s observation is absolutely the way to go. High loft head to me is intrinsically more forgiving. It’s a lot easier to hit a 12 degree driver straight than it is to keep a 9 degree straight. The down side is ballooning, but the low launch low spin shaft helps mitigate that. Furthermore, the low launch low spin shafts tend to be more stable, which also helps with dispersion and center contact. I think the same principal works for irons as well. I’m the last few years I’ve moved to a 12 degree driver, followed by 19 degree fairway, 23 degree hybrid, and traditionally lofted irons, all with lower launch shafts than would typically be recommended for my swing speed. Im keeping the ball in play and the scores are trending down.

Absolutely works for me - M3 set to 11 degrees with HZRDUS Yellow 6.0

The reason this works, in all likelyhood, is because the "low spin" shaft design actually fits your swing characteristics better. Therefore, producing more consistent results for both distance and accuracy (total driving).

Find your perfect shaft first.....then dial in head design and actual loft

Was fitted for the same g400 LS with a Whiteboard in stiff. My swing speed is only 98-103. Great combo for me.

Never would have dreamed I would be fitted for a Whiteboard with my swing speed. Go figure.
