In any discussion of these type irons, Srixon Z785's must be included. I have played every blade available to the common man in the USA, including Mizuno, PXG & Miura's but these Srixon's may be the softest and best through the turf of the bunch. Completely different sound from last years Z offerings. If you don't try them, your missing an opportunity to see the difference !

They are OnOff 2015 Kuro Irons and they are like Hen's teeth now to find. I get private messages from guys asking me to help them find a set or sell them my back-up set.

I bet you do!

The Irons in this photo..... Good Luck finding them though. :pimp:

Yes I have dabbled in trying to find them, but no one carries them for a demo. They do look sexy as hell though.

I have a 2017 model I'll sell....I'll include the porn japanese newspaper they came with as packaging material, lol

I would love to see them.

the irons ir newspaper?....lol

These are definitely high on my list! I cannot wait to hit them as they look gorgeous!

Tried Titleist ap2, mizuno mp5, cobra forged mb/cb, ping anser forged, taylormade 2014 mc, srixon z765, miura cb57, among a few other sets and nothing beats the j40 DPC for forgiveness and soft feel. Awesome super soft and the slightly longer heel to toe length combined with the sole/turf interaction and the pockets in muscle provides a surprising amount of forgiveness. There's a reason Fred Couples still bags them!

... Just a personal preference from playing a similar look for so many years, but I like a smaller/mid size iron head. That said, hitting the DPC's at the PGAShow on demo day I was just blown away by how good they felt and how forgiving they were. If I could play a longer heel to toe iron, these would be at the top of my list.

I had a set of DPCs and wish I had kept them. I love my 790s and they may perform slightly better than the DPCs did but they don’t feel near as good. Bridgestone should do a new DPC release with a black diamondized finish with a simple Bridgestone “B” somewhere on the cavity. Satin chrome would work too.

I switch back and forth with my 2x iron sets: MP18 - SCs and 718 AP2s.

To me the MP18-SCs are softer. AP2s are a joy to middle but definitely a different feel. I love them both in there own right. Turf interaction are both awesome.

So many great CBs out there but these 2 models make me happy lol

I might recommend finding an MP64 as a standard to compare a cavity with blade performance and feel.

Trust the MP64 to give you the most complete expression of a forgiving yet robust blade experience in a forged quasi cavity body.

Were I testing today, the JPX919 BK would be at the top of my list and if it fit my eye and outperformed the MP64 it would be fitted, spined and gripped by the best available club builder for my next game.

Good luck and enjoy your next set.

The title says it all. I want to hear different peoples opinions. I am going to get fitted for these irons: Mizuno MP18 SC, Titleist 718 AP2, Srixon Z785, and Taylormade P760. What are your thoughts on these irons, and Do you have any others you would recommend? Thanks!

Just went thru full fitting ... Imo mp z785 p760 ap2 on the buttteryness scale

Im not brand loyal to anything and 80% of my bag is Cobra (at the moment) but i have to go with the Maltby TE or DBM forged heads if you want the best combo of soft AND forgiving.

Something ive noticed is Maltby heads are usually EXTREMELY forgiving. Match those up with a SteelFiber or Recoil shafts and you have yourself a great set of feel and forgiveness.

Dang im really hoping i didnt just sell myself on building a set of those. Probably did though.....

J15 CB. I've hit almost everything on that list except the Maltby.

Ive had 2 sets of Vega's and while they are soft they are not as forgiving as the Bridgestones.

I'd rate the top 3 as follows,

1 J15CB

2 MP 64

3 Wilson V6 and Srixon 765 (tied)

The J15 CB's feel like my mp33s. Very soft but way more forgiving.

My problem with including the MP18 SC and 919 Tours on this list is that i wouldn't call either forgiving... maybe forgiving for an iron of its type but not forgiving in an overall sense.

Maxfli Revolution Blacks. Very soft feel since they're cast out of nickel. They have very little offset and surprisingly forgiving. Also, they're tour proven and dirt cheap.

I have always loved Mizunos and just went back to them. Put in an order today for MP-18 SC set. Great buttery forged feel. And all my launch monitor numbers were true and consistent. I don't worry about forgiveness much until I get to the long irons. I would rather have something that is flight-able, consistent and gives me true numbers. And the feel ... so great.

I have to say I also like the feel of the iBlades. Not forged but still a really pleasant feel to them. And they are, in my opinion, the best blend of workability and forgiveness I have ever played or tested. Fantastic clubs. My only problem is I hit them pretty high and with a LOT of spin.

Miura CB-202 --- Actually I have not hit many different irons and I seldom change clubs. I wish I could hit the center more often but when I do, I am not sure something could feel better.

NO mention of Miura PP-9003??

http://www.golfwrx.c...ght-neck-irons/

Miura 9903's have a dense feeling that is amazing and solid but not "buttery" like Mizuno or cally x-forged '13. Same with miura 501cb and cb57's. tm p770's remind me of miura 9903's -- dense and pleasing but not super duper soft. Most accurate and forgiving that I've tried in the category though.

I've not hit these jc15's everyone is gushing about and I bet there won't be any in the BST after this thread....lol

Stealth, TSR2, AP2's, and a JB Versa
