The Spider X was good for me on long putts but the added weight felt clumsy on shorter putts that required more touch. The weight difference isn't insignificant, the head is something like 73g's heavier than the previous model, so they were forced to pair it with a heavier counterbalanced shaft. I saw in one of the Tour and Pre-Release threads that some of the tour staff have the older, lighter stepped shaft in there and not the new CT shaft and am wondering if they have a different head as well, otherwise I would have to imagine they would feel like a sledgehammer.

Noticed the same thing. Liked the look of my blue one. But the weight just feels off. I prefer the tour red honestly for feel and use.

Yeah I agree with the weight feeling off. I was expecting to be more consistent on short putts but it was the complete opposite.

Has anyone else done what I have done and put the Evnroll Gravity grip onto their Spider X?

Absolutely loving this combo, works so well, my stroke is just so much more consistent!

Played 18 holes this past Saturday. Made 3 birdies with the navy blue big white putting aide...the stick weights feel so light that the hands can easily twist or manipulate the face at impact....going to agree that the navy color does look better at address versus the copper colorway. I need 12 gram weights in my navy spider x or going back to the spider tour black like DJ.

Adding the 6g weights helped the feel and weight of this putter tremendously for me.

I just played a round with my Spider X, and I am really liking this putter. I have made more 10-20 foot putts with this putter, than I have made historically with other putters. Short putts seem to be on par with other putters I have used in the past. I haven't been able to play or practice much with it outdoors, so I am looking forward to that opportunity.

Jury is still out on my Navy Spider X. I benched my Concept X for it and find the TM slightly more stable. Had a few great putting rounds then I went sideways. That said, I used my wife's new Stroke Lab 7s a few times last week and it feels much more stable in my hands. Loved the sound/feel and performance as well. Love the TM looks and will keep using my Spidey but with an eye on the Stroke Lab!

Has anyone had success with a grip other than the Pistol GTR 1.0 that comes stock on the Spider X? Might need a grip a little wider

I don’t like SuperStroke grips. I went with a 65g rubber grip.

Had to return mine. Just couldn’t get any consistency with my distance control on longer putts. It rocks on short puts though. Back to my 2013 Scotty Cameron NP2 Black Mist. Just better feel (ie - softer) and better distance control for me.

They're sold on Taylormade website under "components".

I have my 12G weights waiting at home and will give it a shot tonight.

If I can get this thing dialed anymore than it already is, it could be amazing.

It's done by a local workshop here. They have done the putter, iron and even metal woods painting for years.

My Spider X is 33" with 6g weights (3g x 2), so far is ok. The issue was the direction (went right) not the speed. I hope the black painting and the swap of the grip can do some help. We will see.

I’m really hoping TM comes out with a dark version of the Spider X stock cover. It’s high quality materials just would like to see something in black or even navy

So I went to play with my new black Spider X yesterday. I was surprised about how well it performed. The ball rolled just on the line as I wanted, and the "roll" is really something you can see instead of jumping. The distance control was also good. The contact is also solid, unlike my previous Spider Tour red. Never felt so confident when putting. Will give it couple more rounds to validate.

I put the Golf Pride Tour SNSR on it and it feels great. Softest putter grip on planet. I love the Scotty Pistolero and typically put on everything. But these Spiders are already incredibly balanced. I think a non-tapered grip like the SNSR keeps the hands out of it and lets the putter work.

I agree. I used to put SNSR on my Spider Tour red and it works perfect. I believe it will do the same well on Spider X. I used stock GTR 1.0 on my Spider X for 3 rounds but felt it's too wide and my ball kept on going to the right. After I put a thinner TM grip (see above) which is similar to SNSR, it's just wonderful.

X is 5% smaller. Higher MOI. Different face vs the Red and Black. Solid evolution of the Spider line.
