Testing ZF6X with the 2020 Callaway Mavrik setting at 10.5 Neutral Standard, not using premium balls but enough warm up after range practice session. Unfortunately the rep didn’t have the Subzero version for testing.

Played the BF in both driver and 3 wood. Purchased a ZF and returned it after 2 weeks, felt less stable in the driver and was more prone to a left miss (more of a pull than a hook) and seemed to launch high with more spin when trying to play a cut. BF was tipped 1 inch, ZF was tipped .5 FWIW. Currently experimenting with a Tensei AV TX, first round with it will be today.

I’d love to know too! Not really a fair trial of the ZF if you tip it differently than your BF.

This is what I was worried about too. Haven't tested the ZF yet but I've tried similar profiles before and these type of shafts almost kick too much on the downswing for me. Makes it hard to time at impact and causes the lefts. Might have to stick with my BF.

To be quite honest 1/2” tipping is a big difference when comparing shafts so the above comparison isn’t quite apples to apples. If you like the BF, you will more than like the ZF. It is beefed up in all 3 sections of the shaft compared to the BF yet still remains super smooth and stable. I’m coming from a Tensei Pro Blue 60 Stiff tipped 1/2” to a ZF 50 Stiff with no tipping and I could not be happier! The ZF is more stable, lower launching but still in a mid launch window and lower spinning than the heavier 1/2” tipped TPB in the same driver head. I hit the ZF straighter than my TPB. The DF 50 Stiff untipped performs very similarly but with slightly lower launch than the ZF.

One thing I will point out is the balance of the ZF is different than the DF. I had 16G in the slider and 4G in the front of my Triple Diamond. My DF was D4 in this configuration. I needed to swap the 16G out for a 18G weight to get my driver with the ZF to D4 swingweight. Testing both configurations didn’t result in any major differences in launch or spin.

I'll more than likely still end up buying it to test out. I'm a 100mph guy and naturally play a fade so I'm more so worried that the shaft might be too much for me. I play a 70 S in my driver. Time will tell

I’m right at 100-103 mph with driver. If the weight of the 70G ZF is close to your current shaft, you should be fine as long as your launch and spin are acceptable. I went to lighter driver and 3 wood shafts simply because I found equal performance as the heavier shaft but the lighter shaft was easier to swing for me. Plus I’m damn near 48 yrs old and have lost some pep in my step thanks to a wonky back.

I have been playing the BF 70x most of the season in my M3. I just order a ST190 driver and 3 wood so I may have to give this ZF a go in the Mizuno. There isn’t much I don’t love about the BF but I do get some spinners from time to time with it.

I'm going to be comparing a ZF to a Tensei Pro Blue in a Mizuno st180 driver soon. Should be interesting. I'm thinking the ZF will remind me of an old favorite, the Oban Kiyoshi Purple.

I’ve always been a whiteboard guy in the driver and a blueboard guy in the fairway.

That said....

Having a go with the DF in the fairway right now and more than happy with the results. Very much the tweener it’s advertised as. Never really found a groove with the BF. Found it loose and a bit spinny. The CK Pro Blue is better for me But not as good as the DF.

im generally a fairway as a second driver / have to hit a fairway guy, more than a go for it in two guy.

This ZF seems like the in-between for the Pro Blue and Pro White - wow, would love to give it a try sometime.

Performance trumps all but.... this shaft looks fantastic. Super premium and looks great in any driver head. Oh and on the performance - First time out I hit 10/13 fairways with no warm up on range. I'm usually a 50% guy off the tee. Stiffer butt vs something like the DF or Pro White.

I have a ZF prepped and ready to go. My dilemma is whether I should put a Titleist adapter for my TS3 or a TM adapter for my 2016 M2. My gut tells me the M2 since I seem to go always go back to it.

Wanted to like it real bad but just couldn’t get used to it. One of the best looking shafts out there but I think the tip stiffness was too hard for me to get any feel. Going back to the ole trusty blue board with the boring but consistent high controllable fades.
