That's a tough question, very subjective! We have all heard the phrase Diamana smooth. I loved my whiteboard 73 when I was younger & had the swing speed to play it. The GD Tour AD DI7 & Diamana S+ 82 is what I play now there also smooth.

The Blue is a great shaft. But it may be one of the last shafts I would expect to see pop up in this thread.

I have a cinnamon 65 X played in a Cobra S9 Pro S head that is the best feeling shaft/head combo i've played. Can feel the shaft load but never feels torquey.

Gonna have to disagree. Currently use few shafts for my 913 D3 and when I compare Oban Devotion its bit stiff. Diamana Original white board, blue board, S+ Fuji Rombax Z series are the smoothest shaft I ever used. Oban Miyoshi White and UST Attas Element Prototype aka Element Earth are also smooth but very stout. My favorite is UST Element Attas Prototype is my favorite. Firm/Stout but smooth and stable with nice kick. I would recommend this shaft to anyone. You will not be disappoint.

So how would the AD BB X compare in feel to a Ahina X in a driver?

I really love the feel of the Motore Speeder VC 7.1. I'd have to say they're the smoothest shaft that I've ever tried that still stayed consistent. The AD DI's tend to get pretty whippy and inconsistent for me.

I suspect the original Grafalloy Blue (which I played in a 905-S), and Tour version which had in a 3wd (both with 2.5" tip sections), and the contempory Grafalloy Blue get confused. The former two shafts were like swinging rebar to some people, as opposed to the new version which, by comparison, is soft to me.

Not close - the Phoenixx Thermopro was the smoothest by far. Lots of shafts are going to feel smooth when you load them up. Someone on this thread even thought the BLUE was smooth - just means he's loading it really well.

The Phoenixx was progressively stouter the stronger your swing, and looser if you loaded it less, so it was smooth for everyone.

Of more recent shafts, the Matrix Ozik Altus 2007 Proto really stands out, as do the TPHD and earlier TP7HD...

Diamana WB
Diamana Blue Board & S+
Fujikura Rombax Z
UST Element Attas MK
Kiyoshi White (some what smooth and stout)

My top 2 favorites are
1. UST Attas Element MK/Earth
2. Fujikura Rombax Z (probably one of the best shaft ever made)

Both have great combination of smoothness, tight dispersion, firmness and very very stable.

The only reason graphite came out was to maintain stiffness in lighter weights, not because S300 wasnt smooth enough
