"Smoothest" driver/fairway wood shafts you've played

Some will probably disagree with me, but I had an Aldila NV 85x in an old Titleist 904f 5 wood, and that thing was seriously smooth

Just to add to the confusion, I find the Diamana Ka'ili shaft to be very smooth-feeling. So now, pretty much all the diamana "...board" shafts are represented. Just goes to show ya, 'feel' is very subjective and and can be drastically influenced by one's tempo and overall swing.

Simplest answer - any shaft with a somewhat soft butt, compared to the rest of the shaft, you'll experience a smooth shaft. Off the top of my head though, the smoothest shafts to me are most any MR shaft, but especially the older Board series. Reason I still have an after market Blueboard 83 in my 3wd. The technique they used to make them was like NO other shaft. That's not to say PX TI woods are not smooth, they are, but not to everyone. For driver I like stiff butt and tip because I am a hitter. My swing is much less hitter with 3wd.

AD-DI are also really smooth.

In fairways, for me, 100% in love with the smooth feel of both the Fuji speeder tour spec 869 and the 660TR. Even in X they are "margariney"

Blue, White and Red. Blue is the mid-high bend (one I really like, stiffer butt), White is the high bend (softer butt), and Red was the low bend (active tip with low TQ). If I recall, MR came up with a very unique technique of rolling (overly simplified) a sheet of graphite up to create the Blueboard 83 (first board shaft). Nobody else made shafts like that, and reason for the soft feel. After 83, then came 73 gram blue, then White and Red. The last was 63 gram shafts for the ultra light folks.

I won't go so far as to give shaft advice online. Whiteboard is a fine shaft, but can be demanding. If you have the SS, and no problems getting the ball, I'll still say "maybe". The more current version is 'ahina and "W series".

Whiteboard in a fairway is only going to be good if you can launch it already, otherwise the launch reduction will probably give you a flight that isn't quite ideal for a fairway wood. I really like the Kaili for this reason, you can turn it over and launch it like a BB but the spin is very close to a WB.

Black tie 8m3 x stiff
Rip alpha 80 x stiff
Kuro kage silver proto 80x
Kuro kage TiNi proto 80x
Rip'd nv 85 tx
Aldila tour blue 85 tx
