Yes, bad form to quote yourself, but I finally played my first round with the 201's paired with the Axiom 105X shafts.  The only range time I had with them was the warmup before the round and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to hit and how they felt at impact.  As background, I had been gaming '21 Apex Pros with Axiom 125X shafts.  I had no idea what the distances would be, but I immediately noted the 201's were at least a half-club longer than the Apex Pros.  I may actually bend them weaker because the yardage gap between my SM8 50* and the 201 PW is too wide.   Ironically, when I put the clubs together a couple weeks ago and measured the lie and loft, all of the lofts came out 1 degree weaker than the Takoma spec sheet.  I guess I should've left them that way.  Haha.

 

Gauging distance is going to be further complicated this weekend as it's 4-day golf trip to the desert (Mesquite, NV).  I may not have the time to adjust the lofts before the trip.

About a month ago I got rid my '19 PXG 0211s to keep me focused on progressing and gaming my JPX919 tours.. Unfortunately, I just don't have the speed, or strike accuracy with my calcific tendonitis causing me pain in my rotator cuff. It's been over a year since the pain subsided.

So far (5 range sessions & a scramble) there hasn't been much to dislike. Distance has been about the same. To the eye they look so much better, closer to my Mizunos in length, top edge and offset. I really like the DG 105 stiffs shafts as well. Coming from Modus 105s I feel like the're slightly more stable. Pumped to see how they perform on the course this weekend.

Likely going to end up with an RDX Red, but also want to test with an Axiom (it’s a bit of a disease). Anyone have recommendations for non big box stores in San Diego area for getting some work done? I’ve found one in Del Mar I’m okay with for swapping out some already built shafts or doing loft/lie adjustments, but not too sure about more than that. I know I can find plenty in Carlsbad, but I’m more south of the city and inland right now. I’ve got a couple of things I’d like to really tinker with, but sending clubs back and forth between SoCal and FL or Mid West isn’t great for cycling through feedback 😝

Is it a whippy shaft? Still gaming the sim udi. Came with the diamana thump and love it but wanted to upgrade.

I never hit it with the Adila Ascent it came with, straight to the shop. I never hit the stock Recoil Dart either 😬

 

It’s in the bag now with an Axiom 105X built up just like a 3i. Just swapped from the 105->125 in my irons and I really like the way it feels just like another iron in the bag. I’ve never liked hybrids/utilities with the usual array of hybrid shafts.

 

The DHY still looks weird at address, but having a 240 tee club I can hit dead straight or can hit a low chasing draw with is much outweighing the odd look

the traction was overall pretty good had one incident where I slipped on a wet tee box but grip was fine. comfort wise they're okay. I wore them walking and carrying on a warm day and could not wait to get them off after the round.

I use them because I can’t stand broken wooden tees. I don’t think there is any difference in performance personally.
