It makes no sense to you because you fail to realize that all drivers perform the same. Everything is maxed out. You can be perfectly fit into a "low spin" sldr and then get fit into a "high spin" G30 and get the same exact performance. You will just have to adjust normal fitting parameters such as loft and shaft. Now I know people will chime in with well one was better for me, but I'm sorry that's simply a placebo effect. You can achieve the same performance with every driver on the market. All that is left is aesthetics, sound, and feel.

Now this vapor flex does not look too bad I guess. The giant ugly green swoosh could go. I'm sure Nike marketing loves our valuable feedback of the original pics. You're welcome Nike.

All valid points. .......after seeing video, I'm not bothered by the looks. .......actually happy with adjustable CG......add in compression channel and new flex loft adapter. ......winner. .......but like you said , I wouldn't want a SQ 5900 sound. .....yuck

I compared the drawn pics of the Vapor Flex driver to the Covert Tour and they definitely look similar in size. The Covert Performance model looks longer from front(face) to back. However, by having the weighting system back there, they can alter the shape somewhat

There are some valid points here, but not all drivers perform the same. You even pointed out an example between spin characteristics of the SLDR and the G30. They obviously don't perform the same. Different drivers have different weights , weight distribution, as well as launch and spin characteristics.

Different people have different swings that are better suited for different drivers. And yes, fitted properly into the right driver, shaft, etc. people can achieve optimal results. But to say every driver performs the same is kind of ridiculous.

Also, not everything in a drive is maxed out. How many drivers are maxed out in MOI? Sure, most drivers are maxed out in COR, but there is more to the performance of a driver than COR.

Last thing in the world I would do is put a new driver in the bag right before the Ryder Cup, especially considering how well he's been hitting his current big stick. Then again, Nike might be begging him to do so...Imagine that volt all over the TV screens this weekend.

I don't think you entirely read my post, so I will try again. In the end if a driver is properly fit the end results will be the exact same no matter what driver you pick. If you are a high spin player you can find the proper shaft and low loft G30 that gets the exact same results as a low spin SLDR that has two degrees more loft. It comes down to dynamic loft for spin. If you have a x swing speed you have a theoretical/practical max for distance. The SLDR might require a 12 degree head to achieve it where the G30 requires a 9.5 degree head. I agree MOI might be different performance attribute, but Tom Wishon and Taylor Made have stated that the difference between 5000 MOI and 4000 is not much at all. These companies are investing large sums of money to convince us that their next driver is better than their older one, but in the end all that should change is sound, looks, and feel.

Now if you disagree then their is no way I can convince you otherwise and you can't convince me, so I don't want to derail Nike's thread.
