My thoughts as well. I'm not crazy about the volt color to begin with, but it's on the bottom of the club, okay I can live with that. But why do they need to put a swoosh on the crown? Can't say it's for TV BC even if you are looking for the swoosh on the crown, you can barely make it out. The cameras aren't close enough.

I wish they would just make a clean looking crown. Do whatever they want to the sole just not what I'm having to see at address.

If there's anything that can be gleaned from this thread it is the fact that Nike sees significant potential in the younger golfing generation, including myself. I'm only in my 20s and didn't even pick up golf until halfway through college, so for "kids" like me the concept of comparing this Volt driver series to something like an old persimmon is, for lack of a better word, irrelevant. Heck, I've never even swung a true "wood" in my lifetime. My compact 460cc F12LS looks "small" in my mind because a "big" driver, by my standards, is a G25 or Jetspeed. And while generalizing is always dangerous in today's society where being "politically correct" is ever so darn popular, I'm going to go ahead and make a sweeping generalization...My generation likes BOLD, COLORFUL, and NEW. Sure, we can all still appreciate simple beauty (I, for one, am obsessed with the look of my V Steels that I scotch-brited down to a raw finish), but it's fun to have something that catches your eye for because it literally jumps out at you. I think Nike decided after they had tried the "purist" route with their VR Limited and the like that they were never going to beat a brand like Titleist at their own game. Therefore, as Nike has done in almost every other sport that they've entered into the market for, they decided to simply make up their own niche and let people decide whether they would love them or hate them. I mean, when they were first getting into hockey they came out with these skates for christ's sake!

 

 

I, for one, loved them (and loved Federov, so maybe I was biased...) and had a pair of my own, but others hated them. Either way, you at least had an opinion. How many of you truly have an opinion on, for example, Wilson Staff golf stuff, positive or negative?

 

Designing a brand to appeal to everyone is a failing proposition because you can never appeal to everyone. Nike has clearly decided that with their golf stuff they will simply go the route of "pissing off the old guys" and appealing to the younger, relatively untapped generation of golfers. Make golf "cool" with these kids and get them buying Nike stuff in their teens and 20s, and you've got loyal customers for the next 60 years or so. Keep it up, Nike.

These are the best pics I could gather from the video of the crown. Looks like there might be a little more detail than just black with a volt swoosh:

 

 

 

It looks like the crown has the same diamond plate pattern that the Vapor irons have in the cavity. The driver on the video looks 487x better than the photos shown here. I'll cut Nike some slack and suspend the VOLT posting until I see more.

I don't know. When you watch the video, you see two models sitting there. The vapor flex that is subtle, and then the versioni n the pics with all the volt. The Vapor Pro may have more volt color bc that's the version most the pros will play, and maybe they want the color to make it more visible on TV

I've been very excited since I've seen the first photos, but I seriously hope that the Pro version doesn't have that grey crap. I like the volt swoosh, but keep it clean otherwise.
