It's amazing how the quality of threads goes down in the off season. Some really entertaining ones too...Asseldonk anyone.
It's amazing how the mere mention of a certain golfer brings out such emotion from both sides of the fence.
You never...ever...want to go full Asseldonk.

Damn I wish that thread was still around.

I learned the Deal/No Deal portion of this site has some really honest people who are willing to go out of their way to help right a wrong.

I'm confused about the thought process some of the negative guys on here have.. Its almost like you shouldn't even say you hit a good shot till your a scratch player! Other than that, some of the terminology was confusing at first, but overall, the site is extremely insightful!
I can agree with this. There have been multiple times I was going to post something but didnt because I knew half the replies would be shameful ridicule so I just read around until I found my answer. But for every guy that like to one-up and put people down to show their knowledge there are 5 more that are genuine and actually want to help. I love everything about this site! Even the bleeping BST..

I still don't know half of them.

BST...

CONUS...

I figured TMAG was taylormade. I know there are more
GLWS is good luck with sale , bst is buy, sell, trade? And Tmag is Taylormade adidas golf
See, I'm still walkin around blissfully ignorant :)

I thought TMaG stood for TaylorMade Golf, lol

Oh well, I'm learnin :)

Have a nice week!

I learned about brand loyalty...

If you have all one brand in your bag, then you are a homer....

Unless it's a wedge, or the original Nike Forged Blades any single Nike club makes you a homer as well...

If you have more than 2 brands in your bag you are picky....(and that's ok)

If you have more than 4 brands...you are indecisive and can't make up your mind...(and that's bad)

If you have ANY JDM equipment in your bag you are a snob....
Then six pretty much makes me a moron, lol

That and I initially had no idea what JDM meant ;)

Have a Nice evening :)

Richard

I learned that when photos are used in avatars they aren't necessarily photos of the members. Subsequently I don't think I'll be "chatting" with too many hotties on this site.

(No offense, Chuck).

I'm confused as to why some people shy away from posting/posting more in fear of someone saying something negative about them or their post. As long as your trying to add something positive, funny or informative to a thread and not just being a troll, Who gives a **** what some Hack@$$ thinks of your post!! Post it anyways!! If I knew I could upset someone simply by just posting, I'd do it more just to keep pissing them off then ;)
The problem is when you disagree with someone being absurd they call you a troll for disagreeing with them. It's a no win situation.
And if you don't mind an addition to your comment, they then start a thread naming you as the reason they are leaving the site and then they delete the thread and go back to posting.
That thread actually got me banned. Gotta give the poster credit for that skill.

I'm still wet behind the ears here. Still 'pooping yellow', if you will. I tread lightly in the instruction forum. They definitely have their own language. I wonder if they describe the pronation of the hips to their toddlers when they're taking their first steps. LOL. My apologies, I crack myself up. My hard drive(brain) must not have the available RAM to process that much information in the less than 3 seconds it takes to hit a golf ball.

Game, gaming, gamed, gamering, gamefication (oh wait! that was is a thing), gomed, gameish, gameingly...

Don't play for a decade and start again in 2012 and now everyone games things, instead of using or playing them.
I've never heard anyone in the real world actually use that term. Definitely an interwebs original.

I learned how much I need to learn about this game. I came on this summer thinking I really knew some stuff, but quickly learned many of you know more than I might ever know...

There goes any credibility I ever had.
Nah. Its like being in sales. You don't need to know that much, you just need to sound like you do. Five people can have different ideas about the same topic. Either all are correct, all are incorrect, or its somewhere in between. How do you know who is right? You usually go with the one who is most confident.
There is definitely that... Some will argue that the ball isn't round just to be that person. And I play blades, so I clearly am a hack trying to look good... There really is no other reason to play them these days.

When it comes to very minute details about club making, I have learned more than I ever knew to begin with.

The LPGA player's "golfwrx nicknames" make it almost impossible to follow any LPGA threads. You basically need a secret decoder.

For example, Cheese = Gerina Piller?
Cheese as in 'say cheese' Piller has a beautiful 1000 megawatt smile.

See I thought it was "Most Talented Lefty" Jeff, but the deep-seeded politeness inherent in all Canadians kept him from wanting to be seen as boastful or overly proud.

When I first came on here it seemed everyone was a scratch
golfer, an expert, a scientist and ready to pounce. I would hit
the post button and then wait to get flamed...and I did, lol.

People were talking about how the ProV1 was the best ball.
I had the audacity to post that it wasn't and that the top 3 players
at the time weren't playing the ProV1. TW Nike, Phil Callaway
and Furyk Srixon. You'd think I insulted someone's mother
with that post, as the Titleist lovers pounced on me.

I was so ignorant of the passion people have for the brand
of their choice. I learned the hard way, lol :)

posting is nothing, its starting a thread, especially when you are giving your opinion and/or speculating, versus stating a fact reported by a legitimate journalist. then you are bound to get flamed for sure.

Nothing surprises me or confuses me here. :) There are things that amaze me though. Like the number of people that have to check out everything in someone's bag. In 27 years of a lot of golf I may have had 2 guys ask me about a club in my bag. I've never went over to someone's bag and checked out what they were playing.
