I saw that too and wondered why I had not heard a comment about such a poor blocking effort.

Devonta missed getting a good chip on Dont'a. lol

I think many other NFL backs would have gotten a tad better chip block on Hightower in that instance.

Another RB might have not cleared Hightower out of the play, but might have allowed Ryan a second or two

more time to get a throw off. Not ranking on Freeman as he is a fantastic RB/Receiver. It is just if

that block was more solid the games outcome may have been different.

If memory serves Coleman was banged up just before that play, if he's in for that play he probably makes that block and the games different, wild.

How bout Sark going to the dirty birds, from booze bag, to "special assistant," to bama OC for a game, to the NFL

And goes to the current NFC Champion team no less, which also happens to have the best offense in the NFL.

Sark takes the wild ride indeed. Must be shaking their heads in Alabama.

though they're the laughing stock of the NFL still. they have 22 picks in the next two drafts. I'd really be interested in seeing this team in 3-4 maybe 5yrs on how they made out.

Dare I post about the Lions on a NFL thread. A notoriously dangerous proposition. But I'm really liking what they're doing in FA. Signing studs on the OL in Lang (OG) and Wagner (RT). They have transformed the line with a combination of youth and experience. Have the makings of being a formidable unit for a number of years to come. In the process, jettisoning dead weight in Reiff and Worford. Must protect the Franchise. Also added some depth where needed, DT and LB. Adding Keshawn Martin may be a real sleeper signing as a KR, PR, WR specialist.

Good stuff by the organization. Bob Quinn, a young smart GM seems to have a clue. More than could be said of the last several ones. All set up for them to now go after defense in the draft. Starting with drafting the best LB available at 21. Or better yet, trade down and accumulate additional second and third rounders. Deep class for LB and S. Quality could be had in the second round. Please, no first round RB.

Course its the Leo's were talking about. Drinking the kool-aid this early is fraught with folly.

LOL! He may not be able to hold onto a football and run at the same time, but he is funny.

That was definitely one of the best/funniest moments of last season. Open field .....run man run...

No RB? Are you happy with Riddick and Abdullah? What about Cook, if he were on the board?

Happy? No. Reasonably satisfied? Yes. With the proviso that both can stay healthy. Cook is Abdullah part deux. Would rather see a bruiser style back. Mixon fits the description, but has character issues. Don't think he's a Caldwell type. McCaffery is the intriguing one if he was still available at 21. Speed, agility, good hands, smart. A touch undersized at 200, but probably could bulk up 10 -15 pounds. RB value can be found in later rounds.

But any first round RB is a luxury pick. The Leo's desperately need to shore up the defense. Especially at LB. Now that Levy is gone. Albeit, he contributed nothing the last two seasons. Give me a outside backer with TE coverage skills and can play the run. Priority one in my book. Could Reuben Foster possibly slide that far? Doubtful.

Build inside out. Strengthen both lines of scrimmage. Build a defense. Get faster. Atlanta's D should be the current model (even though they choked on the applesauce and blew the SB). That's what wins ships. Not like the Leo's are anywhere close to being a contender. Managing just one playoff win would be a start.

All this still remains the "on paper" chattering's of the minions. Rational expectations with the Lions remain a dicy proposition.

Lang had offers from GB and Seattle. Lion's simply offered a better one. Assume both did their due diligence. Plus, He's a hometown guy. He said a major part of his decision was where he wanted to raise his kids. The GB press seemed quite disappointed that he left. FWIW.

The injury and surgery is pause for concern. But he was a pro bowler last season, only 29. For three years, worth the risk. Like the move (along with Wagner) a lot.
