I see they went away from the bore-through shaft at this point. I think with woods you almost have to, most of my bore through besides the Eye 2’s are the best performing I have. These look like winners to me though. Will have to wait and see

Visited family out of town, went to a Salvation Army that's usually closed when I try to go... found these. Just the 6 & 8 unfortunately.

Reminded me---- My wife has been cleaning out the front room and found my Precision 6 iron that has been missing for a year or more. How it ended up there and the rest of the set in the shop I have no idea. They were rusty when I found them and I had not really detailed them to a point but had played a couple of rounds with them. Threw all of them in the Vinegar and coke soak last night and plan on playing a vintage round with them Monday morning bright and early. Looking forward to it.

That's not $3.99 for the 4i~PW set, is it? I mean, even per club it's incredibly cheap, but for the whole set...!!??

Sometimes you just get lucky and spot something inconspicuous. If you know your Canadian golf lore, you know Accuform's predecessor was Tri-Sport.

I unfortunately had to leave these behind as I don't think they'll be better clubs than my Royal Staff Models that also came from a thrift store... Full 3-PW set! No dice using them to convince my partner to take up golf either 😂

Okay, easy question for the veterans here - what paint pens do you use for paint filling numbers and letters on your old club projects?  I’ve several sets here with finish in good shape, but the paint fill either missing or tired.

Never used paint pens.  Usually use Tamiya paint.  Think it flows into the fill recesses better.  Testor's is fine though.  Gloss or flat depending on what sheen I'm after.  Basic colors, doesn't make much difference.  Think Tamiya has a broader pallet.  Then use decal sealer (no sheen) or clear nail polish, especially on the soles, to lock it down.  Use a better quality fine tip artist brush (Michaels) to apply.  Then a wipe with acetone to remove excess.  90% of the time, will strip the old paint and start fresh.  Especially if some of the fill is missing.

Head to Carlton Hobbies on M-59 near Lakeland.  They have a nice selection of hobby paints.

??  Carlton is in Waterford.  Next door to VC Fresh Marketplace on Highland Road.  FYI, was referring to Lakeland Arena.  Figured you knew that given your location.

No steady hand required.  Paint in the fill, overrun is not an issue (in most cases).  Sometimes a second application to even it out.  Let dry, wipe with acetone on a paper towel.  Very easy.  Might have to plot a plan if working with multiple colors, in close proximity to one another.

Can someone ID the model of this Walter Hagen Haig Ultra iron set?  And any word in playability? Have an option to buy a full set 3-PW in this condition for a very low price.

Google is my friend with a link to golfwrx.  lol  Apparently, they're a 1973 vintage iron.

ETA:  Well, heck.  He had the matching set of woods too.  Yeah, they went in the van.

from days long past and still around.

used that stuff on hobby model kits so many years ago.

they also produced red/white tubes of glue with the little applicators inside the tops.

Monogram models had a small factory near where I grew up.

when you rode your bike over - they sometimes gave out boxes of over-run kits.

or - we dumpster dove.

cars, planes, ships. great fun.

I just use fingernail paint. The Dollar Tree stuff if I see a color I need when I'm there. It seems to hold up pretty well (though I don't usually use it on the bottom edge.

Ok!!!  First set of grips changed in my lifetime.  The '74 Haigs have a new lease on playability now.  They got a set of Karmas because they'll only be played 3-4 times a year.  I think.  😁

I wasted a bunch of money having grips done all these years.

One of the reasons I learned to install grips with air many years ago. I can pull grips on and off with ease and that makes things cheap.
