This is a dream come true for me. Good looking PING irons. Love PING... When I bought my G20s, they were the ugliest irons i've ever seen. Bought them based on performance alone. And it wasn't like PING had anything good looking to offer in the iron department. Until now... Exciting!!!

u need better dreams....lol

Hey this is the wrx! people find a good looking iron head sexier than a phat chick eatin' roasted marsh mellows under the moon light.

I played S57s for several years, and loved them. Currently I have Mizuno MP-4s in the bag, and prefer the feel over the Pings, but I miss the forgiveness of the S57. These I-blades could be the perfect mix of both worlds. They look really good, it seems that the 431 steel is very soft, and if they managed to build the same level of forgiveness into them than in the S57 they will be in my bag. Especially if Ping offers the new PX LZ shafts, even as custom option.

Totally unWRX thing I will be doing tomorrow (or maybe very WRX now that I think about it...). Been waiting to see the S55 replacement for awhile, as i have been playing them since about a week after they came out. I like the look of these A LOT... That being said... I am ordering another set of S55's tomorrow, I like them more...

Hum, with the release of these clubs the "S" identifier will be retired. Apparently Ping didn't put much value in that nomenclature.

seems like ping is just overall trying to consolidate the nomenclature. Got rid of the k, i and anser line of woods and then made multiple G series types of heads (regular, sf tec, ls). and with irons the K line got consolidated into the G line as G-max. Now, seems like they might be consolidating the S irons in the i line as i-blade. might be a bit of marketing there too with the blade moniker, but in general seems like a longterm effort on ping's part to consolidate the overall names and then just have subsets underneath. so in the context, given what they've done with the K series generally as well as the i series in woods, it makes some sense they'd do the same thing with the s series in irons. not saying, its good or bad, just there's a clear trend.

i'm sayin' that i don't like it!

I guess these will replace the S series irons as ping appears to be leaving the "numbers" countdown or up. Wouldn't make sense to have a S54 and these. Kind of early to be showing new irons as summer isn't a normal new product time for ping. Was always late fall, then some after the PGA show intros. They do seem to follow the latest wedges with similar looking iron sets.. A new shape for PXG to Xerox

Very nice! Glad to see the minimalist look. This club looks like it could be sold on the JDM. They may replace my i20s that I can't seem to find anything better than.

Don't really understand the iBlade name though. I don't play Titleist irons anymore, but I really like their nomenclature the best.

i agree, the titleist line of irons has the best nomenclature. personally, i would have loved to see ping go with a line of irons tagged something like K016, G016, I016, S016 that leave the classic all black ping numeral on the sole, have ping stamped somewhere on the back of the clubhead, and have the model name slid over onto the hosel.

ah well...

Tungsten toe weight?

They do.. It's just very hard to see. They blended it better than on the current line. Check back through this thread and you'll find a couple posts on that.

Definite progression in the shape of the bottom/sole "pad". Seems vertical on the short irons (presumably to keep a neutral/higher center of gravity) then the pad is angled pretty sharply from what I can tell in the photos in the long irons (presumably to lower center of gravity for forgiveness/ease of launch). Toe looks more squared off than the S55 as well. I'm wondering if the tungsten in the toe is being carried over, it's not visible like the S55. I'm sure there is other tech hidden in these as well.

I have a sneaky feeling that the tungsten weighting is the reason the number looks so funny and a different shade to the rest of the sole. not to sound too out there but I think the tungsten might be in the numbers
