I actually think the s55 are some of the best clubs I've ever seen in the looks department. I don't know what it is but they just look so great to me from the top line to the minimal offset and the back of the club looks just great in a golf bag. Performance is even better IMO.

Love the looks of these new ones. It's Ping. I know it'll be great. I would've taken an s55 with the 431 metal!

I change too much to list it. Working on that...

The tungsten is in the same place as the S55. Look at the 8 iron pic.

Good man! I see it now! Nice! I'm basically all in on these. Hope Ping carries the PX LZ shafts.....

in response to durability:

How do the Glide wedges and Ping i/e irons hold up with that material? Ping irons have always been super durable, and I hope these are too.

I don't know about everyone elses experience with the glide wedges... I LOVE the feel and look of them, but I swear my new 60 has more wear on by quite a bit than my gorge 54 degree.. I use it a little more often... but I used the 54 for quite a while before I got the glides..and there is still barely a mark on the face of my 54, the glide on the other hand has a quarter sized spot that is worn out pretty bad. Must be much softer metal.

In my experience the chrome plated Glide scratches less easily than the Tour Gorge. I suspect the harder metal on the Gorge would hold up a little better if you bashed the club on a rock though.

Question I'd be interesting in learning is whether these will be chrome plated or raw.

Interesting....After looking at the pictures more I have noticed the tungsten. It is kind of hidden in a way like the tungsten is hidden in the Ping ie1 irons. It is there, just not colored too differently that blends in with the iron head a bit more.

Another observation- The top line seems to be a "progressive" top line and sole...As the irons get longer, the top line gets incrementally thicker and the sole gets a little wider...very subtle. Overall, the proportions look great.

Last, the PW looks like it has a little more front bevel to the sole of the leading edge.

I hit my S55s earlier today and I fell in love them again (never really fell out of love with them)... however, these iBlades still have my attention. They will have to be stellar to knock my S55s out of the bag. Contently waiting yet excited to hear what Ping actually has to say about these irons...

Anything special about these?

Will they get sued by Apple for calling them an iBlade... :)

Should Ping Sue PXG?

Hey, just remember, Ping was consulted in the whole failed music social media thing from Apple. I'm not sure you'll see those two go to war.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Definite progression in the shape of the bottom/sole "pad". Seems vertical on the short irons (presumably to keep a neutral/higher center of gravity) then the pad is angled pretty sharply from what I can tell in the photos in the long irons (presumably to lower center of gravity for forgiveness/ease of launch). Toe looks more squared off than the S55 as well. I'm wondering if the tungsten in the toe is being carried over, it's not visible like the S55. I'm sure there is other tech hidden in these as well.

Take a look, carefully, at the flat 7-iron shot. You'll see the Tungsten rub-in.

In my experience, the 431 stainless steel PING uses in the iE1 irons is just as durable as any steel they've used before. It shows no more bag chatter or wear on the grooves. Plus, the lack of a chrome plating means:

1. There's no chance of the plating flaking off (a small but not unheard of issue with some PING and Callaway models).

2. The irons can be refinished by PING to look brand new if desired. PING will only refinish their non-plated irons.

As great as PING's plated finish looks on the Glide wedges, S55s, S56s, S57s, i25s, and i20s it does not serve a functional purpose (like preventing rust) on any stainless steel. In my mind, it's more like the ferrule. Classy, but unnecessary and potentially problematic.

These look great, clean. Although not sure why they call them "blades" when they are a CB? Even filled undercut it seems?

lol, lets be fair... hasn't usage of "blade" by Ping always been a designation relative to their own iron lineup? I mean they've done it before...

or to put it in better perspective.... product_142827.jpg
