Meh, bland and boring to my eye. Also quality control on their tuning port needs to step it up, the one on my Glide never seemed to fit right.

These look better to me today than they did yesterday for some reason. Shame about the number font though as that still doesn't look quite right to me - almost a little cartoon-like.

 

Then again, you don't look at the bottom of the club when you're making a shot. If you do, then you're doing it wrong!

I'm really liking the change too. If you look at the four main lines, there are extremes at each end: GMax, G, i, I Blade. GMax is the extreme game improvement offering, i Blade is the extreme players line.

 

The only thing that may cause confusion down the line are if Ping keeps indicating the lines with just the letters. As others have mentioned, Titleist uses the two digit year in their lines. Maybe if they use E2/M2 etc. later on it will help but then again those numbers will start to grow large as well.

 

I'm thinking of the issue with iPhones where it's difficult to tell which iteration you have but then again their form factor and badging don't change like irons do.

 

If these irons sound anywhere as good as the i's, they'll have a popular iron for the more experienced golfer. I like the looks of them, but I like the extra help the iE1s give me.

My irons are set in the bag, but these look sweet. May have to redo the back up bag…LOL
