Conspiracy Theory: Rory and Rickie dress awfully on purpose in an attempt to bring shorts to the PGA-Tour.

 

They should wear shorts. The long pants nonsense is ridiculous. Rickie looks like someone who'll grow out of it. Rory looks like someone's ugly sister. (No offense intended.)

It's not about "Against the Norm " you Argued the reason for them is extreme comfort. The Counter to that is so are Golf pants.

Did no one here see Westwood and Poulter's twitter battle when they brought up the worst clothes the other person had worn? It was hilarious! All things the tour players wear do not become trendy. Joggers? Yeah maybe, but Rory is not selling them today!

 

I don't necessarily like Fowler's style, but at least the clothes fit his body. Rory has always had very bad fitting pants in my opinion, but this is awful beyond words! With those shoes, he looks like a little kid today. Still hoping it's some kind of joke though.

Haha relax man I'm joking around. But your screenname tells the story why you don't mind the look, that's fine. When you get older you'll look back at fashion trends from your generation and say 'what were we thinking?'. I know I did, skateboarders from the early 00's? We looked like idiots but thought it was awesome then.

 

I sometimes play at a course that would send you packing for anything that doesn't resemble golf attire, and they definitely wouldn't accept this. I was told to change for not having a polo under a sweater when it was 45* out, no chance the sweater was ever coming off.

As is the case with every one of these threads (and there are plenty of them)...there is a large amount of "GET OFF MY LAWN" in this thread. Just a heads up: if you currently wear pleated anything to play golf in, you aren't in the demographic that Nike is trying to cater to anyway. Producing the same old clothes every year doesn't move the needle. Nike has made a clear effort to keep their golf line targeted towards younger golfers and the current trends. If you spend any time around college campuses, you will see sneakers and joggers all over the place. You may not like it, but it isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so you can either keep making the same comments about it or just accept it for what it is :)

I understand what you're saying, also note that I joined 7 years ago, 21 now. As a 21 year old I still enjoy the look, my 52 year old pops enjoys it too. He wouldn't wear it but he realizes its a generational thing, it looks cool on the right guys.
