If I'm Jason I stay where I am a little more "king of the hill"...Not that Nike wouldn't make him feel special but they have Tiger and Rory...two's company...Three's a crowd. Somebody is getting less that stellar marketing position

Nike had Lebron, Kobe and Durant. Marketing not a problem.

Great opportunity for Nike. And TW is maybe doing a little recruiting. I imagine he would benefit from the overall growth of Nike Golf.

This guy can move some merchandise>

It would be a real coup if Nike signed Dash.

I have said this before, but I will not be least bit surprised to see Day become the new face of the TW brand. Nike did not let the Jordan brand die off when MJ retired, and I am sure they will not let the TW brand die when Tiger decides to retire. This would give both Rory and Jason their own comfortable section under the Nike umbrella.

This comes under the "how much money do you need?" category.

I like Day. But, even though I'm not a big TM fan, I would lose some respect for the guy if he switched to Nike for $$$.

He's had huge success playing TM, undoubtedly already has more money than he knows what to do with.

So why switch?

Why switch? Family...kids...providing for their future? How much money is enough? Maybe when they think it's enough. This is a guy who grew up dirt poor. That used to be on his mind before he figured out that he couldn't play like that. But I would contend that feeling never fully goes away.

If I were in his boat and were literally offered $100M over a decade to wear the Swoosh, I could live with your disappointment and gleefully accept the Direct Deposits. :)

He may have grown up dirt poor but now he's filthy rich.

Now matter how much more I was offered, before signing anything I'd look over the LONG list of guys who switched club affiliations and, for whatever reason, were never quite the same.

Judging by the number of endorsement labels on his shirts, I'd guess he could live pretty well off those alone.

He'll play where they pay him the most money.

This is not true.

PXG offered him a blank check and he chose to stick with TM

Just guys hating on Nike with no basis in fact for their views. For all the crap Nike gets about their "junk" equipment resale value on their clubs is up there with Ping and Titleist. Can't be that horrible. And I don't own or have ever owned a Nike club.

Jack? Jack who? Jack Nicklaus?

How many majors did he win without a bag full of MacGregor clubs?

Any Rory does seem to be doing great after his switch.

All I'm saying is I like Day but I would lose some respect for him if he made a money grab with a new OEM.

no club has good resale....whats that have to do with anything?

It reflects somewhat on the perception of quality and desireability.

I believe Rory has the same amount of professional wins with Nike than he did with Titleist. And he's been with Nike, what, a little over 3 years?

Pretty sure he's doing OK.

This may be true, but it seems that his consistency was better with Titleist. I haven't looked it up though...maybe it has more to do with his love life.

He might be doing OK. Maybe in his case, if he could figure out how to putt that would help. That, and some players that might be a little better than him may be playing. Remember, fields are deep and ANYONE can win at any week.

What if Nike is the front runner to the TM deal? I could see that happening.

Nike clubs don't sell very well overall, maybe TM will??........LOL

Day has been with TM since he was 17. Unless the new buyer for TM doesn't wasn't to pay, I don't see him leaving.

And before that, he was all Nike.

Serious question: why does who sponsors a player matter to you? Unless you work for the company do you actually benefit? If a PGA player is wearing the same shirt as you does that make you a better golfer? Equipment I sort of understand as I am a Callaway loyalist but the clothing thing baffles me.

I think you answered your own question.

Serious question: why do you care why he cares?

Yes a blank check with an asterisk on the side. PXG pockets are the size of toddlers pockets compared to Nike and Taylormade.
