... Interesting take comparing Titleist to a Mom and Pop shop. Bullies that sue just about every golf ball OEM for patent infringement. Not the I blame them for getting to #1 and protecting their interests but far from a small store that needs to be supported.

That’s what I’m here for. To make you think. Look up Titleist yearly revenue vs. Kirkland and Costco. Neighborhood store vs. Walmart. If Titleist sees someone infringing in their patents, they sue. I don’t blame them. They didn’t have a case against Kirkland. But you’d do the same thing if you owned a patent and thought someone was making a buck off your design. But I digress.

Get ready boys

It mostly means Costco sells items for a while, then they don't sell that item. Maybe they start back selling something similar or maybe something totally different or maybe nothing.

It's just Costco being Costco. They sell whatever they can source in quantity that meets their targets for quality, price and product mix.

I found it odd that the Callaway Hex Control ($59.99 for 4 dozen, same as the previous SuperHots that were sold in a 4 dozen pack) were originally priced above the Kirkland 3-piece. I know the Kirkland 3-piece isn't as popular as the original 4-piece ball (and some people just don't like it), but it still seemed like a better deal. Recently, the Callaway balls were discounted to be essentially the same price as the Kirkland 3-piece - I didn't realize this was just clearing them out.

Costco has this constant friction with any branded product. Maybe Callaway just got tired of constantly being undercut by the Kirkland product and didn't think the extra distribution was worth it. In addition to gloves, Costco used to sell some Callaway bags too. My guess is that the 10-12 piece golf sets may be on the way out too. Personally, I thought it was a little bit confusing for Callaway, as they were also selling lower end balls (SuperSoft, SuperHot, Warbird) in the traditional golf stores.

This is what it would feel like if Trader Joe's started selling awesome 4-piece urethane golf balls.

Hey, when everybody starts playing them, time to move on. Am I right?

They're still in the bag...just have some (old) new friends from TM in their with them. The Scotty Cameron, however, is in the timeout corner and might be there for a while. Waiting for the KSig putter now.

I've been saying for quite a while that the _Project (a)_ is one of the best kept secrets in golf balls. All the hype about soft balls is crap - hit these and you will be hooked: they hold the greens beautifully and still go a mile. Of course since it has the "amateur" mantra attached to them (and at a cheaper price point) all the driving range pro's and "scratch" golfers here will still flush money down the drain on premium pricey balls that won't make a difference in their game. If you search a little, you can find them for some great deals. I have about 20 dozen on hand, and have averaged about $20 each box. Absolutely love them.
