Weight for sure. Not sure about the other characteristics.

I chose 661 over 569 for more weight, lower trajectory and stability. It totally works out for me.

I chose not to get one because I would have to replace the shaft. If it came with an X flex I would have got one for sure.

What's the deal with the weights? The ones I see online have two blue weights in the center, and one silver weight next to that. A lot of the used ones on Ebay do not have the blue weights on the draw or fade slots?

 

Do you use the center weights in the draw/fade slots or something?

 

I asked a couple ebay sellers if extra weights were included, and none of them had extra weights.

the driver comes with the 2 blue weights standard. those can be moved into the center track front and back, or moved out to heel and toe, or even heel OR toe.

This thing has been so consistent AND fotgiving that's it near .....dare I say.....boring? Nah .....I did move one weight one slot forward vs both in back middle and spin seemingly came down but draw more pronounced....

Kind of nice and warmer this week here on both east Ohio so hit the heated bay range for a bucket for some wood play andalmost forgot how good this driver is! Full disclosure, I do have the ST180 driver and 3 metal on special order after a really nice fitting with my teaching pro but I’m really not sure that it will be a clean sweep for ownership at the top of my bag.

 

I could see the JPX900 driver staying and the ST180 3metal combo or the opposite...

 

Going to be an interesting winter and spring for sure and really looking forward to it!

Hit 10/12 fwys last round ; much easier to control and shape....M2 2016 couldn't beat it and 2017 M1 gets a shot this week.....no to low expectations however

Loving this head, but not the shaft... I have the 569. Its a whippy monster for me. I just ordered a Motore speeder 6.3 TS (always loved that shaft in the 850 and I currently play the 7.3 in jpx 850 hybrid). Hopefully, this shaft change will give me the yummy goodness that you guys speak of....

 

In the meantime, if anyone wants the 569 stiff flex...I'll be glad to sell it.

Just purchased both the jpx900 3w and 5w, love the feel and look. Hit them great on the simulator, but haven't had a chance to play a round with them, can't wait

By all means, experiment.

 

But personally I think shaft weight has as much or more to do with making a sound repeating swing than stiffness.

 

Last year I tried to find replacements for my Adams Idea Pro hybrids. These, I believe, were categorized "Player's hybrids". They have 80 gram shafts in them (Stiff). I typically find the middle of the club face consistently but was doing the WRX thing always looking for more/better.

 

Tried hitting the more forgiving hybrids but most all of 'em have 60 weight shafts. Couldn't find the center of the club face for love nor money.

 

Experiment over. NO more looking for hybrids for me - until possibly the heavier shafts become too much to handle.
